Woot the Wanderer finds himself at the home of the Tin Woodman of Oz and desires to hear the story of how a woodman made of tin could come to be. The Tin Woodman tells the tale of how he was once Nick Chopper, a man of flesh and blood, in love with a young girl named Nimmie Amee. The Wicked Witch of the East was not happy about this and so she enchanted his axe and had him cut off his limbs one at a time, which were replaced with limbs made of tin.

In The Brave Tin Soldier, a beautifully touching tale often attributed to the Grimm tradition, a one-legged toy soldier embarks on an unexpected journey filled with danger, devotion, and quiet heroism. Separated from the delicate paper ballerina he admires from afar, the soldier is swept through dark gutters, stormy waters, and the jaws of hungry creatures—yet his steadfast spirit never falters. Every twist of fate tests his bravery, loyalty, and unbreakable heart as he faces trials far larger than himself.

"Once upon a time, there were twenty-five tin soldiers who were all brothers, as they were all born from an old tin spoon. They held their weapons on their arms, their heads were turned to the right and their uniform, red and blue, was rather smart." One tin soldier, though he was exactly the same as his brothers, found himself, by accident, setting out alone on a series of adventures. But do not worry, this tin soldier was afraid of nothing. - Hans Christian Andersen (1805-1875) was a Danish author, poet and artist.
