In Paws in the Pasture: 100 Stories of Farm Pets, Loyalty, and Legacy, every cluck, bark, bleat, and purr tells a tale of heart. From border collies who outrun storms to pigs who root out danger, from owls who ride tractors to goats with a taste for hats—this collection captures the quirky charm, fierce devotion, and quiet wisdom of barnyard animals who became family.

When 16-year-old Kim loses her mother to a sudden illness, the world she once knew collapses. Silent, withdrawn, and drowning in sorrow, she shuts everyone out—especially her well-meaning father, Tom. Desperate to help her heal, he makes a bold decision to send her to Willow Creek Farm, a quiet sanctuary nestled in rolling hills where horses don’t just run—they listen.
