The Final Examination for my first year at Krysfelt is coming up! My freshman year has been anything but orthodox: ogres, a draconic bloodline, and a nest of corrupted bureaucrats who'd love to see me fail. I've survived it all thanks to the team at my side—loyal, lethal, and lovelier than I ever thought I deserved. Now we have to prove we belong here in a trial designed to break squads that aren't perfectly in sync. And we're about to add a new piece to the puzzle: Seema, a late-starting lionkin with almost a whole year to make up for.

Enough is enough. We’re taking the fight to the bureaucrats! The plan: get to Los Angeles—the beating heart of the Magocracy—and deal with Vorlius and his stooges before they get their hands on the artifacts bound to my Bloodline. And why not have a little fun along the way? From cozy castle towns to shady roadside motels, there are a lot of sights to see in the Magocracy of California. But I’m mostly hoping to see some more of Varga, the academy’s most notorious wolf girl—if she can play nice with the others…

The Annual Freshman Rumble is coming up at the Krysfelt Academy for Girls, and it’s time to shape up or get wrecked! Thanks to a few… notable incidents, my team’s been selected to compete in this year’s Rumble: a no-holds-barred showdown where freshman squads face off in a gauntlet of Dungeons. Easy, right? I mean, I already soloed a Dungeon to save one of my girls!

At Krysfelt Academy for Girls, trouble usually wears a team jersey. But this time, it’s a government Reclamation Officer, and he’s after an artifact mysteriously bound to my bloodline. There’s one loophole: prove I’m a rightful bearer through ancient Legacy Trial. To do so, we’ll have to break curfew, slip past the Reclamation Officer’s goons, and partner with a rival who knows the back trails better than any of us.

My team and I have worked hard to earn the honor of representing Krysfelt Academy for Girls, but not everyone is happy to see us rise to the top. Old rivalries are resurfacing, and some competitors are willing to take things too far.
