After a successful first season of Domestic Partners chronicling the renovation of their historic Craftsman Colonial, Peter and JP are taking on a renovation of a local Tudor Revival inherited by identical twin brothers Terry and Tom Cash. But linoleum floors and a pink-tiled bathroom aren't the only unwelcome surprises awaiting inside the house. Just as the show is set to start filming, Peter and JP discover Tom Cash dead at the foot of the house's staircase. And when the police ruling changes from accidental death to homicide, the list of suspects grows fast.

Kicking off season three of their hit reality TV show Domestic Partners is a home renovation project with an irresistible hook. Woods Hall is a lavish 1913 manor home in the Detroit suburb of Pleasant Woods, once belonging to the town's founding family. It also comes with its own ghost. Twenty-five years ago during a Halloween night party, automotive heiress and beauty queen Emma Wheeler-Woods, wearing a white Princess Diana wedding gown as a costume, fell from a third-floor balcony to her death. Or was she pushed?

A headless body turns up on a beach. Former sheriff detective Frank Pounds is dragged from medical retirement because he may know the identity of the body. Irreverently dressed in a t-shirt, board shorts, and rainbow-painted huaraches showing off his pink toenails, he stands over a familiar body with a distinctive tattoo. As he glares up the beach to the pier lined with camera vultures with long lenses, it turns personal.

This is the first of box sets covering the complete Nick Williams Mystery series of novels! The four complete books in this set include: The Unexpected Heiress, The Amorous Attorney, The Sartorial Senator, and The Laconic Lumberjack.

Thursday, July 16, 1953. It's just another Thursday morning in July of 1953 when the doorbell rings at 137, Hartford Street, and it's bad news. Carter's father has been murdered in Georgia, and the local sheriff has no intention of finding out who really did it. So, Nick and Carter borrow the first plane that Marnie, Nick's amazing secretary, can find for them, and they zoom off back into the past to see if they can uncover the truth of what really happened before the wrong man is convicted.

Jeffrey Klein's love affair is heating up, and Nick has to chase him down because, frankly, he needs a lawyer to set up his new business. After finding Jeffrey shacked up in a compromising position, Nick has to deal with his own personal mess when it comes to saying good-bye to an old flame. After receiving a telegram asking for help, Nick and Carter end up flying south of the border, down Mexico way. When they get there, they find a corrupt politician, a flirtatious police captain, and a woman terrified of an uncertain future and what it holds for her.

Nick Williams, heir to a vast fortune, lives with his lover, Carter Jones, in the Eureka Valley neighborhood of San Francisco in an unassuming bungalow. Little do the neighborhood ladies, who do their daily marketing on Castro Street, know that just down the street their neighbor is the richest homosexual since possibly Alexander the Great. His no-nonsense secretary Marnie Wilson keeps things together at the office in the Tenderloin. To her frustration, Nick is always turning away clients. He doesn't really need the money, after all. In The Unexpected Heiress, Nick is called in to see his lawyer and friend, Jeffrey Klein, whose mystery client, under contract to Metro, was just arrested at the Kit Kat Club on Polk Street but somehow got off with a bench warrant. Jeffrey wants to know who in the police department worked things behind the scene for the star of the upcoming blockbuster It Was Raining Then. Meanwhile a late night phone call from his estranged father sends Nick into a tailspin and a family secret, along with a lot of other things better kept hush-hush, are all splashed on the front pages of the daily newspapers. It ain't pretty.
