Arlo Fenn is a detective. Technically. He’s got a badge (somewhere), a notebook (full of meat-related observations), and a holster that refuses to stay where it’s supposed to. Most people forget Arlo exists moments after speaking to him. The rest remember him only as a man who once arrested a coat rack for loitering. So when a widow calls about her husband’s missing body, Arlo does what any slightly offbeat officer would do: he investigates. And eats lunch. A lot of lunch.

When terrorists plot to blow up five of the country’s ammunition plants, Lady Justice calls on Quirky Arlo Quimby as her newest recruit. But Arlo himself becomes a target due to his association with a controversial and unorthodox group. Once again, Walt finds himself knee-deep in conspiracies and assassins.

In the backwoods of nowhere special, Harlan Pickett has a problem: someone—or something—is stealing his shoes right off the porch. With his last remaining pairs disappearing one by one, Harlan enlists his equally hapless cousin Arlo to construct a ridiculous trap to catch the mysterious thief.
