  • You Knew Better, But You Did It Anyway
    May 13 2026

You Knew Better, But You Did It Anyway

Most people don’t get hacked because they didn’t know better.

They get hacked because something felt easier to ignore.

In this episode, Joe Hormenoo explores one of the biggest hidden problems in cybersecurity:

The gap between knowing… and doing.

Because most people already know the basics.

    Use strong passwords.
    Update your devices.
    Be careful what you click.

So why do we still delay updates, reuse passwords, and click “remind me later”?

Using a simple everyday analogy, Joe breaks down why convenience quietly shapes so many of our decisions online - often without us even realising it.

What you’ll take away from this episode:

    • Why convenience is one of the biggest cyber risks
    • How small decisions quietly build over time
    • Why “I’ll do it later” can become dangerous
    • The mindset shift that changes how people approach cybersecurity

Because cybersecurity isn’t usually about not knowing.

It’s about what we choose to ignore in the moment.

If this episode made you think differently, share it with someone who needs to hear it.Because awareness is where security starts.

    Remember… the moment you think
“it won’t happen to me or my business”…
    that’s when you’re most vulnerable.

Stay Current. Stay Secure. Stay Ahead.

  • You Wouldn't Recognise A Hacker If You Met One
    Apr 29 2026

You wouldn’t recognise a hacker if you met one.

Most people think hackers are easy to spot.

Someone in a hoodie. Sitting in the dark. Clearly “different.”
But that’s not how it works in real life.

In this episode, I share a real experience from an authorised security assessment, where I was asked to test how far I could get into a highly secure building without access.

    The building had strong systems.
    Strict controls.
On paper, it was locked down.
But instead of trying to break in…
    I simply walked in.
Dressed like I belonged there, I had a normal conversation at reception.
And during that interaction, I was able to demonstrate how quickly access could be gained not physically, but digitally.
I didn’t need to bypass security systems.
I didn’t need to force anything.
I just needed to look like I belonged.
    And that was enough.
That’s the part most people miss.

Hackers don’t succeed because they stand out.
They succeed because they blend in.

    In this episode, we explore:
Why appearance is the wrong thing to focus on.
How trust is built and quietly exploited
Why “this seems normal” is often where risk begins
And how small moments of awareness make the biggest difference

    Key idea from this episode:
“Hackers don’t succeed because they look suspicious… they succeed because they don’t.”

If this episode made you think differently, share it with someone who needs to hear it.Because awareness is where security starts.

    Remember… the moment you think
“it won’t happen to me or my business”…
    that’s when you’re most vulnerable.

Stay Current. Stay Secure. Stay Ahead.

  • The Everyday Habits That Make You A Joy To Hack
    Apr 15 2026

The Everyday Habits That Make You an Absolute Joy to Hack

Most people think cyber attacks happen because of one big mistake.

    But they usually don’t.

In this episode Joe Hormenoo breaks down why the small things we do every day are often what make us easier to target. Not because we’re careless. Because we get comfortable.

Clicking “remind me later” on updates. Reusing the same password because it’s easier. Downloading random free apps. Letting everyone use your main WiFi. Over time, those little habits quietly open more and more doors.

Because cybersecurity isn’t usually one dramatic moment. It’s years of small shortcuts adding up.

And by the time something goes wrong, most people can’t remember all the apps they downloaded, all the accounts they created or all the permissions they gave away.

What you’ll take away from this episode:

    • Why most people don’t get hacked because of one big mistake
    • The “house with many doors” analogy and what it says about your digital life
    • Why free apps often aren’t really free
    • Why your main WiFi should not be shared with everyone
    • How small habits quietly make you easier to target over time
    • One simple question that changes how you think about cybersecurity: “Is this convenient for me… or convenient for someone else?”

You don’t need to become technical. You don’t need to panic.

You just need to notice the doors you’ve been leaving open.

Because if habits created the problem… habits can fix it too.

If you know someone who always says “it won’t happen to me” - send them this episode.

Remember: the moment you think it won’t happen to me or my business, that’s when you’re most vulnerable.

Stay Current. Stay Secure. Stay Ahead.
