    Jul 6 2026

On today's podcast I chatted with author and marriage and family therapist, Kristen Mosier.

Kristen, originally from the Bronx in New York chatted about her life and career, and in particular the change of pace she experienced when she moved to New Jersey.

Her new book 'Restless - How to Stop Living an "If Only" Life' challenges how so many of us are living our lives, always chasing the next thing and never truly satisfied with where we are in ourselves.

She speaks about how to be more present in our lives and how we can all make better decisions when we use our own inner compass by adhering to our personal values.

While society has us programmed to keep pushing forward we need to be sure that this doesn't have us permanently restless.

    Jun 22 2026

On today's podcast I chatted with Dawn Russell, the amazing CEO of Ana Liffey.

Dawn, a huge music lover is originally from a small farm in Tipperary and her social conscience was awoken through her mothers work at St.Lukes, a psychiatric hospital in Tipperary, and meeting a character in Clonmel called Martin who she says always looked out for her.

Her eyes were opened when she came to Dublin to pursue a career in counselling and discovered the harm reduction work that Merchant's Quay was doing in the city.

When Dawn joined the front line team at Ana Liffey over 19 years ago, she quickly found herself assisting people at their lowest ebb through addiction, homelessness, mental health or domestic violence issues.

Always pushing for change and a desire to make even more impact, she rose to the role of CEO and now oversees the provision of services to 5,000 clients per annum in Dublin, Balbriggan and LImerick.

  • Roger Overall and the Importance of Storytelling
    Jun 14 2026

On today's podcast I chatted with Roger Overall, the founder of Show and Tell.

Roger has spent a lifetime telling stories as a cartoonist, an illustrator, a photographer, a journalist, a videographer and a podcaster.

We spoke about the importance of telling your story and not leaving this to chance, the chance for people to misunderstand and believe something that is not accurate.

When it comes to your story you really need to be in the driver's seat, and not a passenger down the back of the bus surrendering control as to what direction your story can end up going in.

Roger spoke about his own story, the impact of living in different countries and some of the storytelling tricks that he uses to get the attention of the audience

  • Paul Niland - A Great Summer in Ukraine
    Jun 1 2026

On today's podcast I spoke once again with a regular guest, Paul Niland who has been living in Kyiv in Ukraine for nearly 24 years.

Paul who is originally from Ireland, is a journalist, a political commentator and the founder and CEO of Lifeline Ukraine, a national suicide prevention service.

As always Paul provides us with brilliant insights from within Ukraine's capital city - he spoke about the routine attacks by Russia, Orban's defeat in Hungary, EU membership, Trump the Russian asset, and the drone expertise which has allowed the Ukrainian military reach deep into Russia and provide their citizens their first taste of what it is like to experience fear during this pointless war that was started by Putin.

He also talks about music and how it reflects the unbreakable spirit of Ukrainians and the role it is playing in the inevitable path to Victory!!

  • Mus- Brummies United Against Racism and Hate Crime
    May 25 2026

In March 2022, just as things were getting back to normal post Covid in Birmingham, some hateful racist literature was being distributed across the city.

For Mus this was all of the racist bullying of her childhood raising its ugly face again, this time by a group called The Patriotic Alternative.

Mus nervously reached out to her predominantly white neighbours through the WhatsApp group, and to her immense relief she realised that they were as disgusted as she was about this spreading of hate.

A few conversations later, this community came together and quickly removed the oxygen from the haters and started the group Brummies United Against Racism and Hate Crime.

On the podcast Mus shares the heartbreaking stories of racism experienced throughout her life, the impact that these have had on her, how it has shaped her career and in particular how the work of Brummies United has evolved.

Unfortunately, fear of others is a currency that some politicians prey on and we also spoke about the rise of Nigel Farage and his Reform Party in the UK.

  • Siobhan O'Leary - From the family Jewellery business to applying AI to your business
    May 17 2026

Anyone that follows me on social media will know that I am not the biggest fan of AI and in particular Generative AI.

So when I ended up sitting next to the founder of The Institute of Applied AI, Siobhan O'Leary at a Chamber breakfast, I couldn't resist inviting her to come on the Win Happy podcast !

We had a really fascinating chat about the family jewellery business, her career as an engineer, the challenge of juggling work and family, and then a huge pivot to self employment and the world of applying AI to business.

When I was editing the podcast, after about 25 minutes of perfect audio for some reason the sound collapsed on Siobhan's microphone and I was struggling badly to recover the audio quality. After lots of repair work by me using the software that I normally use, I had an ok recording but it wasn't at all good enough to publish.

Instead of abandoning what I had, I ironically turned to an AI repair tool that I had never used before to see if it could rescue the recording At times it changed Siobhan's voice and at times it managed to mispronounce some words - it still needed some intervention from me and a few parts I had to delete but all in all it did an ok job.

I'll let you listen and figure out where the AI took over and you might let me know if you think it did a good job or not!

  • Joe Philpott - All Roads Lead to Where You Are
    May 2 2026

On today's podcast I chatted with Musician, Songwriter and Author, my good pal Joe Philpott about his life, his book 'All Roads Lead to Where You Are' and some new music that he has just released.

Joe had the adventure of a lifetime when he and his school buddies headed to America to see if they could make it in the music business with their band Rubyhorse.

While his excellent book captures this amazing story, the practice of writing the book has opened a huge door to his overall creativity resulting in new projects and new music.

If you get a chance to grab a copy of the book, it's impossible to put down once you start.

  • Daniel Cremin - The real magic is storytelling, not the tricks!
    Apr 7 2026

On today's podcast I chatted with writer, performer, producer and magician Daniel Cremin.

At four years of age Daniel saw a magician perform a trick at a local library which intrigued him,and at 11 he saw Paul Daniels perform a magic trick on TV, he was hooked.

Daniel immersed himself in magic and at every opportunity he would perform his tricks to friends, family, visitors to the house and even to the local priest at his first confession!

Since then he has perfected his craft as a magician and extended his interests to acting, writing and producing shows.

Daniel is a very busy man between his one man, self written, self performed show 'Why Magic', the Cork Fringe Festival that he co-founded, which will run from the 8th to the 10th May, a new project, 'Jacko the Musical', and his private magic shows.

The real magic is storytelling, not the tricks!
