• The Dangers of Blind Conformism Part-2

SUMMARY OF THE DANGERS OF BLIND CONFORMISM – PART 2

Blind conformism is often fueled by religion and cultural practices. Religion is simply the belief or non-belief in the existence of a God or of gods, usually espoused by doctrines. It is a word regularly used interchangeably with faith or a belief system. Howbeit, religious practices vary, and in most cases, they entail the veneration of a supreme supernatural being, deities or an entity that is considered sacred.

Religious practices vary from culture to culture and may include rituals, sermons, sacrifices, incantations, festivals, prayers, feasts, trances, initiations, funerals, matrimonial services, meditations, etc. For instance, the religious beliefs in Christianity vary from those of Judaism, Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism and many others. There is no human being on earth without a religion. Even Atheist and Jains are religious about their beliefs that there is no personal God or Creator.

The core teachings of most religions are the supremacy of God; the duty of humanity to God and to fellow human beings. Most religions evolved in Asia and they have holy books that their belief systems are predicated upon, apart from the African Traditional Religion and a few others.

It is interesting to note that several religions have smaller gods that adherent’s worship as a medium to venerate the Supreme God. Adherents of most religions believe that the human soul does not actually perish when the body is deceased or returns to mother Earth. Two common practices or rituals observed in many Countries around the world are the Halloween and St. Valentine’s Day rituals. In the first part of this subject, we analyzed and explored the Halloween annual ritual, with its origin and significance. So, now, we shall analyze the philosophy and practice of St. Valentine’s Day, a perverted ritual.

St Valentine’s Day is known as “the world’s “holiday of love”. It is also known as the “festival of sexual license”. It originated from two ancient sexual pagan rituals called: LUPERCALIA and the FEAST DAY OF JUNO FEBRUATA.

The first ancient festival: Lupercalia was also known as the festival of sexual license. Centuries ago, it was celebrated on the 15th day of February by the Romans, in honor of the deity called LUPERCUS; the god of fertility and husbandry, also known as the protector of crops and the great hunter of wolves.

Over the centuries, St. Valentine’s Day cards and messages became popular, particularly in the 18th and 19th centuries. Cards were painted with cupid and hearts decorated with lace, silk or flowers. The name VALENTINE is a Latin word VALENTINUS; it is derived from the word: Valens. It means “to be strong, powerful, and mighty”. St. Valentine’s Day is undoubtedly a license for sexual profligacy and an oblique commercialization conspiracy. It has caused countless teenagers to swim in the pool of sexual depravity as they consider it fashionable to be a couple and to indulge in diverse sexual activities.

SUMMARY OF THE DANGERS OF BLIND CONFORMISM – PART 1

The greatest form of ignorance is when someone passionately defends something that he or she is ignorant about. Ignorance is the cause of most problems in life. Ignorance and deceit, two sides of the same coin, have been the cause of intolerance, wars, terrorism and all other vices from one generation to another. Ignorance has caused countless conflicts for power and territories. It is like a veil that covers one’s sight; it is a catalyst for adversity.

Conversely, knowledge is the panacea for ignorance. It is the discovery of one’s folly. It is sometimes very difficult to convince someone who is naively ignorant. Ignorance is very costly; it is costlier than the cost of acquiring knowledge. It breeds fear and gives birth to evil works. Ignorance can only be conquered through knowledge. Sincere ignorance is one of the real enemies of humanity. Ignorance in action is like a hypersonic missile that can wreck overwhelming havoc on humanity.

Blind conformism is very dangerous. It is a phenomenon that occurs when an individual or people follow a trend, doctrine, or philosophy just like a sheep that follows the herd blindly without considering alternative perspectives or viewpoints. Many who observe pagan rituals like “Halloween Holiday” and “St. Valentine’s Day” are culpable victims of ignorance, the mother of blind conformism.

Summary of "Strategies for WOMEN to arise and to exceptionally excel" – Part 1

When an ignorant woman is ignorant of her ignorance, such ignorance turns out to be the calamity of the ignorant!

This exhilarating three-part mentoring series titled: “Strategies for WOMEN to arise and to exceptionally excel” is indeed a breathtaking piece that is pregnant with effective tools and strategies that can break the spinal cord of fear, ignorance, mediocrity and complacency in the mind of every woman. This inspirational series can upgrade the minds of women with the latest software for extraordinary outcomes. An ancient proverb says: "Who can find a virtuous woman? For her price is far above rubies."

Eleanor Roosevelt was a politician and the wife of Franklin D. Roosevelt who was the 32nd President of the United States of America. She was the longest serving first lady of the United State; she once said:

“No one can make you feel inferior without your consent.”

It is a fact that every normal human being desires to succeed in life but many do not really understand what success entails. They often wallow in the mud of fear, worries, impatience and discouragement. This mentoring program is an invigorating package of timeless success formulas that can nourish your mind which is the gate to your success and happiness. The human mind is a very powerful force. It is the oven where great or evil ideas are baked. Everything you see physically began as an idea. Good ideas bring about astounding productivity; while bad ideas often bring about failure and misery. This program aims at revolutionizing the wellbeing of every woman in order to guard them against lack, failure, sorrow, ridicule and contemporary slavery. It can change any woman’s perspective about life’s numerous challenges and provide her with the stimulus for extraordinary achievements. It can also make women attractive to success. Women, be unshakable and unstoppable because your setbacks today may very well be a subtle setup for an outstanding comeback tomorrow. Be determined to snatch victory from the jaws of discouragement and failure. You have got go aspire for greatness.

One phenomenon common among all human beings is adversity; it is no respecter of gender. Adversity is the fate of all human beings. It is a word synonymous with catastrophe, difficulty, suffering, misfortune, hardship, sorrow, trouble, tragedy, setback, downfall, unhappy circumstances, accident, destruction, sickness, obstacle, disappointment, failure, frustration, discouragement and so on and so forth.

Every human being encounters difficult circumstances from time to time. Life undoubtedly is full of troubles, sorrow and difficulties. Living is all about solving problems on daily basis. There is no escape from adversity; howbeit, it is the bridge to success and happiness. No one has immunity from adversity, no one!

    An ancient scripture says:

“Man THAT is born of a woman is of few days, and full of trouble”

It is important therefore to note that adversity is a recipe for success. Without adversity, success will not exist. Whatever difficult circumstances you encounter in life’s boisterous journey matters less; what really matters is how you respond to adversity, and not how you react to it. You see, more often than not, difficult circumstances oftentimes disguise in opportunities for success. It was Henry Kaiser who said most aptly that “problems are only opportunities in work clothes”. Challenging situations are time and again setups for success. Adversity will teach you things you may never have learned in school. Any successful person you encounter today is one who was bold enough to confront that “Goliath” called adversity and was able to overcome it.

  • Effective communication Part 2
    Jun 13 2024

DESCRIPTION OF EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION – PART 2

It is important to learn and understand body vernacular or what is also referred to as “non-verbal expressions" Body language is the way the human body reinforces the state of one’s mind. It is possible to read body language, which resonates the mind. We need to be skilled at it in order to be able to determine the messages that we or others give out. This is different from sign language, which is the application of body language to convey a speaker’s message. It entails a combination of hand shapes and movement of the arms and body, including facial expressions to convey a speaker’s thoughts. It is a language used to communicate with people who are physically impaired from hearing or speaking. Do you know that there are more than 300 sign languages? That is very intriguing indeed.

We have got to be careful about interpreting people’s attitudes through body language because some people are introverts while others are extroverts. Therefore, their respective body languages would differ. The human mind controls the body. Certain body activities can reveal the state of someone’s mind. Many people are poor readers of body language, but they erroneously think that they are exceptionally good at it. You see, it is possible to be fluent in body language. You can develop the art of reading body language so that you can effectively control and have the right results during communication. We are all endowed with an inner alarm system called intuition.

The art of getting people to do whatever you want and whenever you want is not magic but a skill that can be mastered. It is called “the power of persuasion.” It is one key that opens wide the doors of success. It is a key that all super achievers apply to achieve great successes. The ability to get people to buy your ideas or to agree with you on any matter is an incredible skill indeed. Persuasion is the art of getting people to suspend their skepticism.

The power of persuasion is the process of influencing people’s opinions. It is a tool that makes life more meaningful. The need to effectively convince people to understand and buy into your ideas is very vital. This is enhanced by one’s ability to decode body language appropriately. You see, the power of persuasion can be positively or negatively applied. Those who join criminal gangs are captives of negative persuasion. One key factor that separates super achievers from others is the impact of persuasive skills. When you develop persuasive skills, you will reap the benefits in several aspects of your life. Your chances of being successful in different areas of life are enhanced by your persuasive skills. Persuasion is the ability to get people to do things they may never have considered doing. No one gets married without the element of persuasion. No one gets a job without the catalyst of persuasion. The ability to persuade is not necessarily predicated upon one’s eloquence but upon the capacity to influence people. Persuasion is different from manipulation. Unfortunately, many people deprive their minds of good nutrition. They fail to exercise the muscles of their thinking faculties. They focus more on the acquisition of money and material possessions through any means possible. Listening is a very important part of effective persuasion. It is very frustrating to communicate with people who hardly listen. Such people rarely effectively persuade anyone because their attitude is often irritating. So, if you desire to be a good persuader, you must also desire to be a good listener. Listening is not merely keeping quiet when someone is talking. Listening is the ability to understand what is being said even if you have a different opinion.

  • Effective communication. Part -1
    Apr 25 2024

DESCRIPTION OF EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION – PART 1

Effective communication determines about 85% of people’s success. It is not just the ability to talk or write; it entails the ability to listen, to persuade and to convey messages to all intents and purposes. It is a learnable skill that can improve every aspect of one’s life. For anyone to achieve success in various facets of life, he or she should strive to be an effective communicator. Indeed, effective communication encompasses written and spoken words. It also entails non-verbal communication such as the silent language which we also refer to as body language. Effective communication does not cost much but it can accomplish much. What you say, when, how and where you say it matters a lot in life’s boisterous journey. Effective communication is one of the greatest tools that enhances success but it is often greatly misunderstood or oddly used. It however cannot be effective where there exist double standards and injustice.

Words alone do not provide a holistic picture during communication. Researches have proven that about 90% of communication is derived from non-verbal interactions. The human body speaks, and so, we must learn the language of non-verbal communication. Words may say one thing while the human body says another. Actors and actresses are masters of body language. In a sense, every human being is an actor or an actress. To achieve great successes in life, you should strive to grasp the skill of reading the silent language called body language.

Do you know that it is easier to tell lies verbally than to fake body language? Feelings are communicated more through body language rather than by what people say. Our minds produce thoughts, our thoughts produce our feelings and our feelings in turn produce our body language. Do not study the body language of others alone; study yours as well. The way you dress is a form of communication. Your facial expressions, your intonations, your posture, your gestures, your eye contacts and your body movement are all vital aspects of communication. When you see a married lady with a black eye, what message does that convey to you? The way a person sits down speaks volumes about his or her personality. When people eat or chew gum gruffly during telephone conversations, these are ill-mannered etiquettes.

Communication is a two-way stream. For instance, when someone picks or digs his or her nose in public, that undoubtedly leaves a sour taste in the mouth and conveys a message of an uncouth persona. The right body language can attract success to your life. It is easy to distinguish a fake smile from a genuine one. Learn to often wear a smile on your face. Body language can reveal when someone is afraid or courageous, angry or happy, sad or shocked, disgusted or frustrated.

One difficult aspect of communication is listening. Most people are terrible listeners. Also, it is a fact that many people abuse the use of their telephones. There are people who barely make the most of their telephones. Some folks hardly read telephone messages. It becomes very frustrating communicating effectively with them through such mediums. Some exhibit laziness and impatience through puzzling short hand text messages that can give one a headache to decode. It is important to sharpen your ability to communicate effectively as it is a tool for success.

  • With these techniques you will succeed -Part 2
    Apr 4 2024

DESCRIPTION OF “WITH THESE TECHNIQUES, YOU WILL SUCCEED” – Part 2

Oftentimes, success is considered to essentially be the abundance of money. Anyone who is seen to have expensive cars, owns luxurious houses, pricey jewelries, designer clothes and accessories and the like are impulsively considered to be successful, even if they are political robbers, drug dealers and criminals in general. It is incongruous that success is particularly measured by financial wealth, power, and fame that individuals or groups of people acquire, which are predicated on self-gratification. Without a doubt, money is very impactful and can enhance an individual’s overall success as it remains a veritable means of exchange. It is not the root of evil as is commonly portrayed by many. The lack of contentment and the abuse of money remains the root of all kinds of evil.

Success does not appear accidentally. It always leaves tracks or clues. Do not equate success with solely the abundance of money because life is more than money. There are many issues of life that money has no solution for, for instance, money cannot buy hope, trust, time, wisdom, honesty, dignity, patience, happiness, longevity, experience, morality, loyalty, determination, good reputation, peace of mind, good health, common sense and good friendships. Success is the result of applied knowledge. There is good success, and there is also bad success. However, one must be guided by the fact that everything on Earth is a fleeting and transient experience.

It is important that we must all consistently and appositely exercise the muscles of our minds in order to attract good success to our lives. We need to regularly feed our minds with good nutrition and vitamins. So, invest time on personal development that would improve your mental capacity instead of frittering away so much time on social media or on frivolities. Follow the tracks of successful people by investing in personal development. Stop creating excuses for yourself. Exercise the muscles of your brain just the way you exercise your body to enhance your physical well-being. In difficult times, watch out for the opportunities that accompany difficult situations and strive to maximize such opportunities to achieve your aspirations. Determine what you want to achieve in various areas of your life and courageously discipline yourself to pay the price required to realize your goals. Success has its price. Therefore, all who desire to achieve good success must be ready to pay the price.

Everything that we do or fail to do is a seed sown in the womb of our lives. Before farmers sow their seedlings, they must essentially take out the weeds first. Weeds represent bad attitudes in people’s lives such as impatience, malice, slander, fear, rage, procrastination, wickedness, and all other vices. Impatience negates the law of productivity. Every seed sown in the womb of the Earth has a gestation period before maturity. Every idea has a gestation period as well. We must, therefore, strive to sow in anticipation, not in apprehension or desperation. Anyone who aborts a seed sown before it matures would bear the consequences thereof. We must strive to endure and overcome life’s numerous challenges and not to see them as nuisance or setbacks. Challenges make us better people if we respond aptly to overcome them. They test our patience, resilience, and allegiance. Impatience is a disease that ravages many lives, and it is responsible for many divorce cases, loss of relationships, debt burdens, and even wars. Impatience is a major weakness that results in dire consequences. Endeavor to uproot weeds of impatience and anxiety from the garden of your mind. What happened yesterday is in the past.

“WITH THESE TECHNIQUES, YOU WILL SUCEED” – PART 1

Countless people have never seen sunshine all their lives and sadly, they may never see sunshine, an aphorism for good success. Many people are ambushed by failure, poverty and misery right from the time of their birth. Not a few do not even know or understand what their purpose in life really is. Anyone who does not understand his or her purpose in life will abuse the privilege of the voyage through this material world. What is your purpose for living? What legacies would you like to leave on Earth when your tenor expires here? What would you like to be remembered for? In a hundred years from now, what would you be remembered for? You see, Nesta Robert Marley popularly known as “Bob Marley” passed away over 40 years ago but his music amazingly resonates till this day. He was a great Philosopher indeed, and he left behind an astounding legacy that has outlived him. A key purpose of life is to contribute in making this world a better place. We must all find something to live for. Life should not be saddled by negative competition, wickedness and narcissism. Lots of people are so wicked and destructive but the essential purpose of life is to spread love.

If you do not really understand what your purpose in life is, then find out what you are passionate about because your passion can lead you to discover your purpose. Some people just live to amass enormous wealth for themselves and for their families by every means possible. Many people drift in the sea of life instead of sailing. It is only when you discover your purpose in life that you can impact your world positively. Living without discovering purpose is like a ship without a rudder that will certainly go nowhere. Success can only be achieved when one discovers purpose. It is said that great minds have purpose while others have mere wishes.

A Chinese proverb says that if heaven made man, then the Earth can find a purpose for him. When you discover what your purpose is, you should be ready to make expedient sacrifices in order to fulfill it. Applying diligence and determination on the path to success is worthless without purpose. Measure your progress as that would inspire you to stretch yourself further.

Another vital key to success is friendship. This is one important tool that everyone should apply to achieve enduring success. It is important to invest in friendship. One secret to success is to build good relationships; one secret to effectively build good relationships is to be a good listener. A true friend is one who will stand by you through all seasons of life. Caring about a friend represents one of life’s greatest virtues. It is said that life without friendships is like a sky without the sun. Good friendship is priceless while bad friendship is worthless. Beware of bad and envious friends. They are worse than venomous adversaries.

  • The blight of bad success -Part 2

THE BLIGHT OF BAD SUCCESS – PART 2

Another horrid side of bad success borders on slave trade. Many years ago, slavery was common throughout the world. It was born out of devilish inclinations. A slave is anyone in captivity or an oppressive state that has been stripped of all fundamental human rights. Every slave belongs to a slave- master. During the slave trade era, human beings were sold like commodities in open markets. Slavery was widespread in Africa. Slaves were abused, brutalized and sometimes used as human sacrifices to local deities. It is estimated that over 75 million Africans died while being shipped to various slave trade markets in the Americas, in Europe and other destinations due to horrible conditions they underwent in transport vessels. During the arduous voyages by sea, they were usually packed like sardines in the most unsanitary conditions. Slaves were often in chains. Some even had their lips padlocked, while others were blindfolded for many days, weeks or months.

The trans-Atlantic slave trade flourished for about four centuries. African leaders were also guilty of human trade atrocities. They sold their fellow Africans as slaves for a pittance to Europeans who invaded African cities, exchanging human lives for western artifacts, guns and other commodities. Coastal communities in African nations bore the brunt of those despicable activities. African leaders audaciously traded their sons and daughters for insignificant cutlery, alcohol and worthless trinkets. In very many developed Countries of the world, slavery was practiced extensively. Children were sold as slaves by parents who used them as collateral to secure loans, which they often failed to repay. Female slaves were used for sex. And when they contacted sexually transmitted diseases, they were discarded like garbage and left to die. Slavery is generally a crippling and dehumanizing act that brings about a sense of inferiority, fear, depression, misery, sorrow and pain to its victims. It causes premature death. It is evil, an aberration and a calamity to humanity. Some historians believe that the total number of Africans killed or abducted as slaves were over a 100 million.

Racism is another blight of bad success. It is the shameful and appalling ideological phenomenon that surprisingly still rears its ugly head in many parts of the world and in various strata of humanity. It is the stereotyped and prejudiced belief that some races are superior to others in terms of ideologies, resources, attitude, power, technological advancement and so on. Racism is a primitive, crude, immoral, outrageous, unreasonable and unfounded philosophy of people who inanely opt to dwell in darkness in the midst of light. It is senseless to believe that the colour of a person’s skin affects his or her intellect or potentials. There is no human being on Earth that had a choice regarding the race, family or religion that he or she was born into. Racism is born out of hatred and self-deceit. It is an absurdity. Racism and slavery are two faces of the same coin. Racism is an infringement on the fundamental human rights of others.
