We start with a question from George as always, this week about where 70% of the oxygen in the planet comes from.

Our guest tonight is more than just a guest, I would consider him a friend. A fellow head gardener battling with limited resources to deliver as high a quality of garden as possible.

He has the added pressure that it’s an open garden in a historical site with areas of SSSI.

We spoke about the fact raw sewage is being discharge by the local sewage plant on to the lake on the site which has SSSI status and there’s nothing they can do to stop it.

We finally got on to talking about mushrooms in various different forms. Daniel is trying to get as much fungal life in the garden to help the plant to survive the threat of our changing climate.

Thanks everyone for watching and listening, join us again next week for another guest from the world of horticulture 💚

We start as always with a quick chat with George and a garden question, this week all about which species of plants that provide all the food for the human race.

Tonight’s guest is definitely living the dream, living off grid in a sustainable cabin in the woods. Built from wood milled from the trees.

How incredible for Marcus to have played and made dens in the woodland as a kid then go on to build his own house for his family in the same woodland.

It was also great to hear about the community garden that they are part of that helps them share skills and labour with the added return of fresh vegetables.

I can’t wait to see the greenhouse come together and the bio digester. It’s great to see someone living sustainably and comfortably with the mod cons we have all got used too.

Make sure you give Marcus a follow and also check out the episode of @granddesignstv

Thanks everyone for watching and listening, join us again next week for another fantastic guest 💚

We started as we always do with a quick chat with George and his garden question, this week about snails. What a fabulous fact I don’t think many people knew.

Tonight we have Josh Taylor who is a garden designer and consultant at the moment but he has had some fantastic experiences in his career including at Great Dixter.

He is also trying to highlight some really serious problems in horticulture firstly the pay which for the amount of skill that is involved and years that it takes to acquire those skills should be a lot higher. Then the much more but possibly related subject suicide, and the statistics are startling.

We also chatted about how organic gardening is not just better for the planet but also more cost effective.

The climate crisis is also another subject that can not be denied by people on the front line seeing the changes in front of our very eyes. Josh describes this past year as his most challenging in horticulture.

Thanks everyone for watching, listening and contributing to the chat as ever join us again next week for another one.
