  • Divorce, Babes. Divorce.
    Jul 7 2025

Let’s be honest, breakups happen. But for Muslims, divorce comes with layers that aren't always talked about. In this episode, I sit down with Tahirah Amatul-Wadud, a Muslim woman divorce lawyer who keeps it honest and grounded. We get into what divorce actually looks like: legally, Islamically, and emotionally.

Tahirah has over 16 years of experience in family, civil rights, and corporate law. She has represented communities like Islamberg, ran for Congress, led CAIR-Massachusetts, and raised seven kids along the way. She knows what she's talking about.

This isn't your auntie’s divorce advice. It's real talk about moving forward with faith, dignity, and clarity.

  • As You Prepare Your Morning Coffee, Think of Palestine
    May 25 2025

In this episode, I’m joined by my dear friend Heba — a Palestinian woman living with MS, now working in the nonprofit world raising funds for orphans in Gaza and beyond. We talk about what it means to carry grief, live with faith, and still find ways to give back while watching a genocide unfold from afar.

The title of this episode comes from a line by the late Palestinian poet Mahmoud Darwish: “As you prepare your morning coffee, think of others.” It's a gentle but urgent reminder — to hold Palestine in our hearts.

Heba’s story is one of resilience, generosity, and deep-rooted love for her people. We reflect on the power of Islam as an anchor during devastating times, and how giving becomes a form of resistance.
