In this special two-part episode of This Ain’t Sunday Morning, the hosts sit down with activist and educator Brittany Packnett Cunningham to unpack the rise of Christian nationalism—what it is, how it shows up in churches and politics today, and why it matters for believers seeking to follow Jesus with integrity. Together they explore how scripture is often misapplied in the name of nationalism, how issues of race and power get buried under “Christian values,” and how the Bible actually centers justice, humility, and love for neighbor. From historical roots to modern-day political influence in states like Missouri, this honest conversation guides listeners toward a faith that resists empire, embraces justice, and looks more like Jesus than nationalism.
