  • EP29:Litigation nation. The big cases making news this week and a few follow ups.
    Dec 6 2021
On today's final LIVE episode of 2021 host @ericdsmall discusses the top cases and lawsuits everyone is talking about. First, the Minneapolis police department is on trial once again as officer Kimberly Potter stands trial for the killing of Duane Wright. Will defense attorneys, instead of blaming the victim (like Derrick Chauvin), blame the department? The trial is starting just as the head of Minnesota sheriff's department put MPD on blast for "hunting protestors" during the city wide protests. Then, the Crumblys are on trial Michigan. Son Ethan is on trial for psychotically gunning down students in his school, while the parents are on trial for buying him the gun to do it. Meanwhile Darrell Brooks, a man who drove his truck into a parade killing adults and children, feels like he is being demonized by the court of public opinion. The more serious concern we have is what this will do to efforts at criminal justice reform. Finally Theranos trial comes to a close and Ghislane Maxwell trial is just getting started!
