This leaves 12-year-old Samantha alone with her abusive mother. Locked in a dark basement without food or water, Samantha is desperate for connection but accepts this is her lot in life. Until the basement door unlocks. And she finds herself with a deadly decision to make.

Time passes, and the blood is painstakingly cleaned from the kitchen tiles. But the horror isn't over. Family attorney Thomas Chattam makes a fatal error when he fails to destroy the "cursed" doll, leading to a bloody reunion in a London apartment.

As Jimmy and Julia face off, the dark truth about their childhood, the death of their brother William, and their parents, as well as the mysterious passing of Julia’s husband, Thomas, comes to light.
