Here’s a question: what do the Spanish Announce Table, the Ladder Match and the Royal Rumble have in common? When it comes to WWE, the #1 answer is Bret “the Hitman” Hart.1995. Survivor Series main event. WWF Champion Diesel defending against Bret Hart in a No DQ match. Diesel is in the ring. Bret, who’s on the outside, pulls himself onto the ring apron. Diesel charges and Bret flies off the ring, through the Spanish Announce Table. And that, my friends, is the first time that any wrestler was sent through the Spanish Announce Table in the WWE.1992. Intercontinental Champion Bret Hart defends against Shawn Michaels in a match that was taped for WWF’s Coliseum Video series but never aired on TV or PPV. Bret beat Shawn to retain the IC title in what turned out to be WWE’s first Ladder Match. Not only was Bret in the match but he’s the one that brought the idea to Vince McMahon in the first place. It’s widely believed that the first ladder match in wrestling history took place 20 years earlier in 1972 in Stampede Wrestling, the promotion owned by Bret’s father Stu Hart. And that’s also where Bret competed in his first ladder match in 1983 against Bad News Brown.And finally, 1988. A match created by Pat Patterson, aired live on the USA Network and won by Hacksaw Jim Duggan: the first ever Royal Rumble. 20 men total entered but who was entrant #1? Bret “the Hitman” Hart. He lasted just over 25 minutes and was eliminated by The Rock…Don Muraco (who by the way won the first King of the Ring in 1985).So, quick recap: Bret Hart was the first ever entrant in the Royal Rumble, the winner of WWE’s first ever Ladder Match and the first wrestler to be thrown through the Spanish Announce Table in The Federation.My name is AO Baker.
