As security and hybrid threats are on the rise across Europe and the war in Ukraine enters its fifth year, European defence budgets are under the microscope.

The debate in The Ring goes straight to the heart of the controversy: is the 5% of GDP target a necessary goal or a misleading obsession? And who ultimately pays the bill for rearmament?

In this special live edition from the Euronews Defence & Space Summit, Méabh Mc Mahon is joined by a live audience and leading European lawmakers — Belgian centre-right EPP member Wouter Beke and German social democrat Tobias Cremer.

How much tourism can Europe’s cities handle? Who should bear the cost? And how is the tourism boom across Europe affecting locals who struggle to find a home?

Two EU lawmakers step into The Ring on this live episode from Euronews Travel & Tourism summit: Regina Doherty, an Irish MEP with Fine Gael and a member of the centre-right European People’s Party, and Sérgio Gonçalves, a Portuguese Socialist MEP from Madeira.

Both MEPs discuss whether it is possible to square the circle between the continent’s tourism growth and its worrying housing crisis.
