The organizers want you to understand that refugee stories are complicated and are not just written by refugees but also those they left behind. While the opening stories are related to the war in Syria between 2011 and 2019, refugees come from all parts of the world and experience the same feelings of hope, loss, nostalgia, longing, and inspiration.

He is asking his daughter to let him speak to his wife who stopped talking with him after she became a refugee in Germany.
