  • Ricky Hoodrich Reacts to Peewee Longway's 10-Year Prison Sentence + Saving His Hard Drive During Police Raid
    Jul 9 2026
Jackson, Mississippi native Ricky Hoodrich joins Skipping Class with Lalaa Shepard for an exclusive conversation about his journey from DJ to becoming one of the industry’s respected producers and engineers after relocating to Atlanta. Throughout the interview, Ricky reflects on his career, working alongside Peewee Longway, and helping create some of the music that has defined Atlanta’s trap scene. The conversation comes as Atlanta rapper Peewee Longway has officially been sentenced to 10 years in federal prison after accepting a plea agreement, with credit for approximately two years already served. Ricky Hoodrich reacts to the sentencing, reflects on Peewee publicly requesting a 10-year sentence, and shares the incredible story of saving Peewee Longway’s hard drive during a police raid. He explains how that hard drive contained years of unreleased music that ultimately helped make the new album, Indo, possible. Ricky also addresses the controversy surrounding why the Rich Homie Quan record “Flip Thru It” was removed from Indo, opens up about Peewee Longway’s friendship with the late Rich Homie Quan, and discusses reconnecting Peewee Longway with Hoodrich Pablo Juan for their new collaboration “Dogshit.” The timing is especially ironic, as Hoodrich Pablo Juan has recently returned home after serving federal time while Peewee Longway is now beginning his own federal prison sentence. The interview also covers Ricky Hoodrich’s thoughts on the current situation involving Pooh Shiesty, Big30, and Gucci Mane, his production process, upcoming collaborations with Doodie Lo, BabyFxce E, and Que Dawg, and what’s next for one of the South’s most respected producers and engineers.
