This week, The Ghost Collector heads into the strange, lonely landscape around Quartzsite, Arizona.

In The House in Quartzsite, I revisit an old home my grandparents owned in the desert—a place that always felt a little colder, a little quieter, and, during one particular visit, increasingly difficult to explain.

Then, in The Red Ghost, we step into one of Arizona’s strangest legends: the story of a massive red camel roaming the desert with the remains of a dead man strapped to its back, and the bizarre real history of the U.S. Army Camel Corps that helped give the legend life.

Three unsettling encounters with presences that could be heard, sensed, and even smelled—but never fully explained.

In “The Crying Beyond the Mine,” two friends travel into a remote mountain mining camp to test a powerful new flashlight. When one remains behind while the other explores an abandoned gold mine, a strange sound begins drifting through the darkness from somewhere farther up the road.

Next, a Lost Ghost Story called “The Smell of Someone Else.” A man living in a newer Patterson home repeatedly returns to find the unmistakable smell of body odor in his empty living room. The odor comes and goes without explanation, accompanied by fleeting movement and objects that refuse to remain where he left them.

Finally, in “Two Hours Away,” a long-distance relationship leads to frequent visits to an ordinary San Jose apartment—one where a young woman usually believes she is alone. But a series of strange incidents raises a disturbing question: when no one else is supposed to be there, who—or what—is inside with her?

Sometimes the safest place to hide is the last place you want to be found.

In “The Hiding Place,” a childhood game of hide-and-seek takes a terrifying turn when a young boy crawls beneath a stranger’s bed, falls asleep, and wakes to something pale and impossible staring back at him from the darkness.

Then, in “The Face Between the Posts,” another childhood memory unfolds at an old family cabin. Sleeping outside on the deck in a green sleeping bag, a boy wakes in the night to a woman’s whisper — and sees a bone-white face watching him from between the deck posts.

Two childhood encounters. Two frightening faces in the dark. And two memories that never really went away.

In this episode of The Ghost Collector, two unsettling encounters leave behind questions that are difficult to explain.

First, in The Mortuary Coin, a young boy is left waiting alone after dark in a quiet 1970s downtown when two coins suddenly roll out of the darkness near a closed mortuary—one stopping directly at his feet.

Then, in The Boy in the Pajamas, an adult has a strange encounter with a young boy whose appearance seems ordinary at first... until something about the experience makes him question exactly what he saw.

Two encounters, decades apart. Two moments that seemed ordinary until they suddenly weren’t.

Three strange stories. Three different kinds of haunting.

In Episode 1.11 of The Ghost Collector, I return to a house where the unexplained seemed determined to make itself heard in The House That Kept Calling.

Then, in The Ghost Car, a late-night drive down a lonely stretch of road turns unsettling when a black SUV appears behind the driver—and then seemingly has nowhere to go.

Finally, we head out to sea for The Faces That Followed the Watertown, the eerie true legend of two sailors lost aboard the S.S. Watertown in 1924... and the faces their crewmates claimed began appearing in the waves behind the ship.

A father and son bring home a pristine coyote skull they find beneath an old oak tree in California’s foothills. Soon after, disturbing dreams begin—dreams of the skull floating through darkness, moving closer, and laughing. Years later, one final detail makes the story even harder to explain.

Then, in The Voice, a man lying awake one night hears a deep, unmistakable warning inside his head: his family’s long stretch of health and happiness is about to end. Within days, the first diagnosis arrives.

And in this week’s Lost Ghost Story, Something Passed Through, a man returns home after a short trip to the store and finds a strange path of destruction running through his house—from the kitchen, up the stairs, and into the bedroom. Nothing was stolen. No alarms were triggered. And there was no obvious explanation for what had moved through the house.

In this episode of The Ghost Collector, strange things are left behind — a red nail and a feather outside an apartment door, a voice in an empty thrift store, an old robot in a child’s toy box, and a witch poem that feels like an old warning.

First, The Red Nail and the Feather follows a young woman in her first apartment, a dangerous upstairs neighbor, and the mysterious woman downstairs who says she doesn’t curse people — she only gives things back to them.Then, in Lost Ghost Stories: Who Are You?, a man wanders through a quiet thrift store while his wife shops, only to hear a clear male voice ask a question no one in the store should have asked.

In Melvin’s Robot, a childhood memory from the middle of the night becomes harder to explain when two visitors appear near a toy box — and leave behind something old, strange, and marked with a name no one recognizes.

Finally, the episode closes with A Tale, a witch poem written by Chris Yslava — a dark little coda about accusation, fear, and what people think they know about the old ways.

These are the stories that linger after the lights go out. The ones that don’t explain themselves. The ones waiting to be collected.
