ABOUT: Tim Reed is the Retail Sales Leader at Fireside Home Solutions in the Pacific Northwest where he helps his team members make it so stupidly easy to buy from them that there is no excuse not to. Starting as individual salesperson in an empty warehouse, he has grown Fireside’s Retail division by millions (after cutting his marketing budget by 90%). Tim has been invited all over the country to teach companies how to market effectively to their customers and sell more than ever before. His YouTube videos, sales blog, and “Fire Time Podcast” have become a resource for the industry and are actively helping thousands of people rethink their paradigms so that they can grow their businesses in the changing landscape. Tim learned “just enough to be dangerous” about sales, marketing, web development, and leadership from years of playing guitar in a failing punk band—which he swears has uniquely qualified him for his job today. Now considered one of the most innovative minds and compelling communicators in the industry, Tim uses his platform to serve others, helping them create clear messages that are wildly compelling to their audiences. Tim lives in Portland, Oregon with his wife, Jessica, two children, Olivia and Luke, and his 90 pound Golden Retriever, Walter. He still plays guitar in a failing punk band. • Don & Kris Richardson - Leading at the Speed of Trust (Live from the 2026 HPBExpo)
    Apr 21 2026
"If you don't make the hard decisions, you actually make it worse for yourself—but they're very difficult." In this episode, Tim sits down with Don and Kris Richardson (founders of RPG Brands) to unpack their remarkable journey from humble beginnings to industry empire. Don started with his wife Debbie in a house with no clue what they were doing, while Kris learned to work hard by jackhammering feather rock in 120-degree heat for $5 an hour. In this episode, the Richardsons cover: • How owing $750,000 to Majestic Fireplaces in the late '80s became the defining moment that taught them resilience—and why Don treasures those dark times as foundational training • The gutsy decision to cash in a life insurance policy for $254,000 to fund Modern Flames in 2009, and how admitting failure on a steam fireplace project eight years later pivoted them toward massive success • Why starting three separate companies within the family business allowed each Richardson to build their own identity while staying collaborative and how they continue to prioritize connection. Don't miss this candid conversation about confronting brutal facts, leading by example, and the servant leadership required to hand off the reins while you still have plenty to give. —— Watch this podcast on YouTube: https://youtu.be/4XMtw_CzsQAPodcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-fire-time-podcast/id1433804268Listen on Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/4vHdzg48bE5qFf0KjMeMej?si=7b6cae3923d348f2Read The Fire Time Magazine: https://www.itsfiretime.com/magazineSubscribe to The Fire Time Magazine: https://itsfiretime.com/subscribeSupport The Fire Time Podcast financially: https://www.itsfiretime.com/join

  • Courtney Hammer - The Power of Small Gestures (Live from the 2026 HPBExpo)
    Apr 14 2026
"I hate huge. I don't like meetings. If I get sucked into a meeting, I always want to have a list of things that need to be addressed afterwards and a time frame from when you need to check in, to be able to get it done." In this episode, Tim talks with Courtney Hammer (Office Manager, Sutter Home & Hearth) about her transition from practicing chiropractic medicine to running operations at her husband's hearth business. After injuries forced her out of patient care, she discovered that what started as a simple admin role became transforming an entire company's organizational backbone. In this episode, Tim and Courtney cover: Why empowering support staff to make decisions without fear saves thousands—from office inventory alone, she cut $3,000 in waste by tracking Post-its and batteries How the "pirate ship mentality" works in practice—if you don't bring gold in, you can't share it with the crew, making everyone invested in quality and callbacks The art of catching problems before they become expensive—from tracking vehicle registration renewals to ensuring service paperwork tells the real story of what happened on site Don't miss Courtney's insights on why support staff are the "unsung heroes" who pay for themselves through efficiency gains and how stashing Girl Scout cookies can solve morale problems faster than any meeting. • Kenneth Walker - 5 Steps for a Winning Showroom (Live from the 2026 HPBExpo)
    Apr 7 2026
"The purpose of your showroom is to sell the in-home visit." In this episode, Tim sits down with Kenneth Walker (Owner, Firewalker Sales) at the HPV Expo in New Orleans to break down the five principles of a winning showroom. Kenneth's approach transforms showrooms from overwhelming product dumps into strategic sales tools that actually drive business to customers' homes. In this episode, Tim and Kenneth cover: Why most dealers confuse retail stores with showrooms—and how this confusion kills sales by overwhelming both staff and customers The simple but powerful concept of creating "experts, not generalists" by being intentional about product positioning and storytelling How good, better, best pricing ladders work when you stop worrying about manufacturers' feelings and start focusing on customer clarity Don't miss Kenneth's insight about the "coffee table battle"—that critical moment when customers compare options at home—and why having authentic stories about your products is what ultimately wins the sale.
