  • S7E8 'Building websites that emit 99% less C02 ', with Jesse Ramon Brown from Sprout 🌱
    Jun 11 2025

In a previous episode of the EcoSend Podcast, we learned that around 250,000 new websites are built every day..!

The Sustainability credentials of such websites are rarely, if ever, taken into consideration. Many website builders focus on competitive feature 'arms-races', particularly the race to implement AI as quickly and as far-reaching as possible.

Fortunately, not all website builders have fallen into this. And that is just what our latest guest on the EcoSend Podcast is here to talk to us about.

Jesse Ramon Brown is the founder and CEO of Enverse Labs and Sprout, the no-code platform that lets anyone build sustainable, accessible, and high-performance websites in just minutes.

Sprout websites have an average weight of just 35KB, remarkably lower than the standard website averages.

So please join us for this fascinating episode as James sat down with Jesse to discuss topics including:

🇪🇸 The Renewable energy startup scene in Spain
💚 Incorporating Sustainability and Accessibility at the heart of Sprout's practises
👣 Jesse's journey to founding Sprout
    🕵️‍♂️ Finding Product-Market-Fit
🌊 The power of the 'Ripple Effect' in Digital Sustainability
    ... and much more! ✨

We're so excited to see what the future holds for Sprout, who are pioneering a novel approach to building websites, which are better for both people and planet. We hope you enjoy the episode 💚

    Jun 4 2025

The meteoric rise of AI poses many questions to Digital Sustainability. ChatGPT-3 is 10 times more energy demanding than a Google search, and training ChatGPT-4 is estimated to have used 50 times more energy than training the previous model.

Many major tech companies find themselves struggling to meet net-zero commitments due to increased data and computing power demands.

But is it that straight-forward? Is AI a villain and dire threat to Sustainability, or can its power be harnessed for good?

Do join us for this fascinating episode as James sat down with Matt to try to answer that question, as well as topics including:

🌟 Bringing Purpose to the forefront of the HiYield brand

🌱 The rise of AI alternatives to challenge the dominant LLMs
📔 The need for clear guidelines are fair usage of AI
    ... and much more! ✨

The nature of AI's role in our future remains very uncertain. Whether positive or negative, its effects will certainly be wide-reaching. A big thank you to Matt for joining us for this episode, and for bringing his expertise to a help clarify such a complex discussion. We hope you enjoy the episode 💚

  • S7E6 'Creating Circular Economy for Creative Materials', with Frieda Bischoff of Renée Materials 👗
    May 28 2025

"We're building the 'TooGoodToGo' for the Creative Material industry!"

Waste is a massive, global problem.

Across the world, ton after ton of high-quality material is sent to landfill or incinerators.

And yet concurrently, there is a huge demand for creative material; ranging from different fabrics, leather, paper, and more.

Seeing the challenge of these two extremes, one company in particular is fighting to bridge the gap. And that is 'Renée Materials', co-created by our sixth guest of the season, Frieda Bischoff.

Renee is a digital platform that enables companies to sell their leftover, surplus stock and offcut waste to be reused. So instead of being sent to landfill, surplus materials can be purchased at a great price, and re-enter the market.

We were delighted Frieda joined us for this episode, and sat down with James to discuss:

🌲 Her childhood growing up in the Black Forest of Germany
⚠️ 'The Rebound Effect', and why giving things away for free can be a BAD thing
💰 Why Sustainable options must also be competitively priced
🥊 Fighting as a competitor to Amazon
🔄 The role which Circular Economy will play in our future
    ... and much more! ✨
