Welcome to The Dusty Signal, a Fallout 4 fan fiction audio drama. New episodes every Wednesday. Host DJ Dusty shares recovered holotapes following Nate Campbell's desperate search for his son in a post-nuclear Commonwealth. You might think you know this story... but you don't. My name is Garrick Cline and I'm the creator of this podcast. I don't have a crew. I don't have a budget. I'm just a longtime Fallout fan using AI-assisted voice generation and original writing to bring the wasteland to life the best I can. I am not a professional sound engineer... I'm just a 54 year old veteran tryingDJ Dusty Science Fiction

A Fallout 4 Fan Fiction Audio Drama

    Episode Name: CHOICES

    October 25th, 2287 - Log 006

    Day Three - Mid- Afternoon.

Nate's moving toward Concord for answers — and finds a war zone instead.

Five raiders. A man pinned down on a balcony. And a dog who'd already made up his mind before Nate had.

This tape follows Nate through the streets and into the Museum of Freedom... where split-second decisions, a weapon he'd never held before, and a ragtag group of survivors called the Minutemen are about to complicate an already impossible mission.

He came to Concord for information about Shaun. He's leaving in power armor.

Got something to say? The network is always open.

The wasteland's mail system ain't what it used to be… but, between that drunkard Gee Mail, the "Mr. perfect" Yah-Hoo Rider, that 'ole Hot Mail Girl, the always paranoid Pro-Ton Postman, and the perpetually late Out-Look Express… something usually makes it to my desk... usually.

A Fallout 4 Fan Fiction Audio Drama

    Episode Name: PARTNER

    October 24th, 2287. - Log 005.

End of Day two - Late evening.

Nate Campbell moves out from Sanctuary Hills before sunrise, headed east toward Concord. The Commonwealth has lessons to teach a pre-war soldier about patience, awareness, and knowing which bags not to pick up. Then — a lit gas station in the middle of nothing, a bark in the dark, and something the wasteland doesn't hand out often. Something worth holding onto.

"There's no reload in life. So you just try to do better today than you did yesterday."

    Episode Name: HOME

    October 23rd, 2287 - Log 004

End of day one - Late Evening

Nate Campbell makes his way down the hill into Sanctuary Hills as the sun sets — and finds what's left of the life he had. The house is standing, barely. Shaun's crib is still there. And somewhere between a ruined bedroom and a doomsday cellar, a pre-war soldier starts to unload things he's carried for a very long time. This is the episode where Nate stops performing and just — talks.

    In This Holotape

    • Nate enters his home in Sanctuary Hills for the first time since the bombs fell.

    • Shaun's crib, a burned blanket, and a You're SPECIAL book that can't be touched.

    • A training story you won't believe — and the teammate who paid for Nate's hesitation.

    • The philosophy of a special operator — you can't reason with a new reality, you just act on it.

    • The decision that transforms these recordings from personal notes into something more.
