  • #3: "Under Wraps" (1997)
    Dec 1 2025

For our first-ever (belated) Halloween episode, our magical GPS fittingly picked the first-ever official Disney Channel Original Movie, according to Disney Channel (and for Northern Lights stans, we see you). Despite being the film to kick off this generation-defining series of movies in October 1997, it finds itself in the Disney Outlands, not being available to stream, or even to rent or buy anywhere online. In it, a young horror fanatic, his squeamish and nerdy best friend, and their witty tomboy pal accidentally awaken an ancient mummy—but, instead of being an undead monster who seeks to enact his revenge against the living, this mummy acts more like a giant toddler: curious, helpless, playful, unable to speak, and terribly clumsy. With the help of a local shop owner, who is himself a connoisseur of the supernatural, this ragtag group of misfits must hide their new resurrected friend, fight off goons who want to sell him to shady buyers, and return him to his sarcophagus before he turns to dust! Leif Bradshaw, Rob Bergman, Sophie Hurtado, and Paul Spicknall hop on their bicycles to unravel a scary good time in UNDER WRAPS (1997)!

  • #2: My Science Project (1985)
    Sep 30 2025
For our sophomore episode, we are sent back to 1985 to explore a sci-fi teen comedy about a too-cool-for-school teen with a troubled home life who accidentally unleashes time-bending chaos through mysterious tech, guided by an eccentric science enthusiast, all while navigating the consequences of his actions and the challenges of growing up. Oh, you thought we meant the one with the DeLorean, the clock tower & the Enchantment Under the Sea Dance? No, Disney rejected that script. This one comes from the writer of 1984 cult fave The Last Starfighter. Our protagonist’s name is Mike, not Marty, and he’s a gearhead, not a guitarist. And instead of traveling back in time, the past and future come to him—after Mike takes a strange device from an abandoned air force base, once the site of a UFO crash in 1957. Why? To pass it off as his science project and appease hippie-turned-science teacher Mr. Roberts. With smart-mouthed best friend Vinnie and nerdy bookworm Ellie by his side, Mike learns that messing with tech you don’t understand can be dangerous, but even average teens can become unlikely heroes. Leif Bradshaw takes the wheel of a cherry-red 1968 Pontiac GTO as Marla Cueva, Avalon Barber, and Jacob Martin hop in for a time-warping adventure in MY SCIENCE PROJECT!AVALON BARBERInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/avaloncheyJACOB MARTINYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@rct3isepicBluesky: https://bsky.app/profile/rct3isepic.bsky.socialBandcamp: https://closetothesun5.bandcamp.comWebsite: https://www.coastercomposer.comLEIF BRADSHAWFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/leifbradshawmusicInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/leifbradshawsingsThe Disney Outlands is co-created by Leif Bradshaw and Bryan Harris. • #1: The Brave Little Toaster (1987)
    Feb 11 2025
For our first episode of The Disney Outlands, we put YOUR suggestions to a poll, and then asked YOU to vote on what we should cover. And the winner of our poll was a 1987 traditionally-animated film about a toaster, a radio, an electric blanket, a desk lamp, and a vacuum cleaner that go searching for a boy that they lovingly call their “Master.” Along the way, they face wacky side characters and frightening opponents, from cute woodland creatures, to a sinister repairman, to a gang of newer & high-tech appliances, to a giant merciless junkyard magnet, in this funny, emotional, and often-dark tale of loyalty, courage, and teamwork. Leif Bradshaw brings Zoey Taylor, Gillian Quigley, and Gene Sargent along for a journey to discover THE BRAVE LITTLE TOASTER!ZOEY TAYLORTwitter: https://x.com/thespis64Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/thespis64YouTube: https://youtube.com/@tandnmom100BlueSky: https://bsky.app/profile/thespis64.bsky.socialLetterboxd: https://letterboxd.com/thespis64GILLIAN QUIGLEYTwitter: https://x.com/cutiepuppyfireInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/cutiepuppyfireBlueSky: https://bsky.app/profile/cutiepuppyfire.bsky.socialLetterboxd: https://letterboxd.com/cutiepuppyfireLEIF BRADSHAWFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/leifbradshawmusicInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/leifbradshawsingsSupport the show and get access to perks by donating to our Patreon!https://www.patreon.com/DisneyOutlandsAll funds go directly towards keeping the podcast running.Follow us on social media!- Twitter: https://twitter.com/DisneyOutlands- Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/disneyoutlands- Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/disneyoutlands- YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@disneyoutlands- TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@thedisneyoutlands- Threads: https://www.threads.net/@disneyoutlands- Join our community on Discord: https://discord.gg/95YC6KXuKnThe Disney Outlands is co-created by Leif Bradshaw and Bryan Harris.
