  • 126 - You Train Hard. So Why Don't You Look Like You Do?
    Oct 26 2026

You train consistently. You eat "healthy." You work hard.

So why doesn't your body actually look like you train?

This is one of the most frustrating places to be especially when you're a high-achieving woman who is used to putting in the work and getting results.

And the answer usually isn't another fitness class, more cardio, cutting your food harder or adding another workout.

In this episode of The Chase Life Podcast, Rachel and David break down the real reasons your physique may not reflect the amount of effort you're putting in and why the problem often goes far beyond your training programme.

    We cover:

    • Why simply going to the gym consistently isn't enough and the importance of progressive overload.

    • Why constantly changing exercises, rep ranges and programmes can keep you spinning your wheels.

    • Why women need to stop being afraid of lifting heavy and what "heavy" actually means.

    • Why lifting MORE weight isn't always the answer, particularly if your biomechanics and exercise selection are building a physique you don't actually want.

    • The role of periodisation and why your training should have a longer-term progression rather than being a collection of random workouts.

    • Why "I eat healthy" tells us almost nothing about whether your nutrition actually supports your goals.

    • The bites, licks, tastes, grazing, weekend eating and "fuck it" moments that can quietly erase the deficit you think you're creating.

    • Why emotional eating, stress eating and binge behaviours are not simply failures of discipline or willpower.

    • The difference between functional hunger and using food to meet an emotional need.

    • Why high achievers can become trapped in perfectionism, overthinking, completion addiction and the need to constantly be productive.

    • Why we sometimes deliberately REMOVE cardio during a fat-loss phase rather than prescribing more of it.

    • How sleep, stress and recovery influence your ability to build the physique you want.

And perhaps most importantly, why your body, business, career and psychology cannot be neatly separated from one another. The patterns follow you everywhere.

If you're perfectionistic at work, unable to switch off, constantly trying to control outcomes and running your life in survival mode, those same patterns will eventually show up in your relationship with food, training and your body.

The version of you who can stay in shape year-round isn't the version who sacrifices her career to prioritise fitness.

She's the version who performs better across everything because she has learned how to achieve more without permanently operating from stress, urgency and exhaustion.

If you're putting serious effort into your body but still feel like your results don't reflect the work you're doing, this episode will help you identify where the real gap might be.

  • 125 - Sugar Addiction, Stress & Self-Sabotage to Hot, Healthy & Bossing Life | With Alyssa Shaw
    Jul 22 2026

In this episode, Rachel sits down with private client Alyssa Shaw, CEO and Co-Founder of Manor Aesthetics & Wellness, to unpack the incredible transformation she's experienced over the past 18 months.

Alyssa wasn't lacking discipline. She wasn't lacking knowledge.

She'd spent years counting calories, tracking macros, training consistently and building a hugely successful business while raising three boys as a single mother.

From the outside, she looked like she had it all together.

Behind the scenes, she was living in a constant state of overdrive.

Every day was fuelled by anxiety, perfectionism and the need to stay in control. No matter how hard she trained, how perfectly she ate or how successful she became, her nervous system never switched off. The result? Sugar binges, chronic back pain, exhaustion and a body that simply wouldn't respond.

This conversation isn't about another fat loss strategy.

It's about what happens when you stop trying to fix your body... and finally address the identity that's driving every behaviour underneath it.

    Together, Rachel and Alyssa explore:

    • Why high-achieving women often feel trapped in chronic stress despite outward success.
    • The hidden connection between perfectionism, over-achievement and emotional eating.
    • How shame - not willpower - was driving Alyssa's nightly sugar binges.
    • The identity shift that eliminated years of food obsession almost overnight.
    • Why counting calories wasn't the solution.
    • Recovering from chronic back pain after years of failed treatments.
    • Why strengthening - not stretching - completely changed her body.
    • The importance of regulating your nervous system before chasing more success.
    • How building boundaries actually accelerated business growth.
    • Why doing less often allows you to achieve significantly more.
    • How to travel constantly while maintaining your physique without calorie counting.
    • The surprising relationship between peace, productivity and financial success.
    • Why high performers don't need more motivation - they need a new operating system.

This episode is a masterclass in what happens when you stop living in constant overdrive and start leading your life from a place of calm, confidence and clarity.

If you've built the career, achieved the success and ticked all the boxes... but still feel anxious, overwhelmed, exhausted or trapped in self-sabotaging patterns, this conversation will challenge everything you think is keeping you stuck.

Because your greatest transformation doesn't start with your body.

It starts with who you believe you are.

  • 124 - Quit or Go Again: The Hard Truth About Success Nobody Wants to Hear
    Jul 3 2026

    Success isn't built on motivation.

It's built on what you do after you've been disappointed.

After the setback. After the plateau. After the day you wanted to quit.

In this episode, Rachel and David unpack one of the most important skills you'll ever develop: grit.

Not the unhealthy kind that keeps you burnt out and running on stress.

The kind that allows you to keep showing up, trust yourself, and follow through long after everyone else has given up.

If you've ever found yourself saying...

    "I've tried everything."

"Why can I succeed in my career but not with my body?"

"Maybe I just don't have enough discipline."

...this episode will completely change your perspective.

    Inside this episode, we discuss:

    • Why grit is a skill - not a personality trait.

    • The difference between purpose-driven resilience and unhealthy hustle.

    • Why high-achieving women excel professionally but often struggle with their body.

    • How years of failed diets slowly destroy your confidence and self-belief.

    • Why fat loss is an emotional problem before it's a nutrition problem.

    • The hidden "f**k it" moments that sabotage even the best nutrition plans.

    • Why emotional cravings - not physical hunger - keep so many women stuck.

    • The importance of becoming coachable if you want extraordinary results.

    • Why trusting yourself is one of the greatest skills you can develop.

    • How your internal dialogue shapes your identity and your future.

    • The Daily 1% philosophy and why small, consistent actions outperform perfection every time.

    • Why your only two options are simple: Quit... or go again.

This episode is a reminder that confidence isn't something you're born with.

It's something you earn every time you keep a promise to yourself.

Every challenge you overcome becomes proof that you're capable of overcoming the next one.

The question isn't whether you'll experience setbacks.

    You will.

The question is what you'll do next.

    Will you quit?

    Or go again?
