    Oct 17 2026

    Welcome to today’s Bible study.

In this episode of 2 Kings 19 (KJV), we continue our verse-by-verse journey through the book of 2 Kings as King Hezekiah seeks the LORD during the Assyrian threat against Jerusalem. This chapter explores prayer, faith, divine judgment, deliverance, and God's sovereignty.

After hearing the Rabshakeh's threats, Hezekiah humbles himself and seeks God's guidance through the prophet Isaiah. Isaiah assures him that the LORD will defend Jerusalem. Sennacherib continues to threaten the city and blaspheme against God, but Hezekiah brings the king's letter into the temple and prays for deliverance, declaring that the LORD alone is God over all kingdoms.

God answers through Isaiah, promising judgment against Assyria and protection for Jerusalem. That night, the angel of the LORD strikes down 185,000 Assyrian soldiers. Sennacherib withdraws and later dies at the hands of his own sons.

Through this chapter, we see the power of prayer, the importance of trusting God in impossible circumstances, and the certainty that no earthly power can overcome the LORD.

    Oct 15 2026

    Welcome to today’s Bible study.

Hoshea becomes king of Israel but continues in evil. After rebelling against Assyria, he is imprisoned, and Samaria is besieged. The Assyrians capture the city and carry Israel into exile, fulfilling the LORD's warnings through His prophets.

The chapter explains that Israel fell because the people rejected God's covenant, worshipped idols, and refused to listen to His messengers. The Assyrians settle foreign peoples in Samaria, where mixed worship develops as the newcomers attempt to honor both the LORD and their own gods.

Through this chapter, we see the serious consequences of persistent disobedience and the danger of worshipping God while holding on to false gods.

Together, we will study this chapter verse-by-verse, exploring its historical context, theological depth, and spiritual lessons about idolatry, covenant faithfulness, judgment, repentance, obedience, and honoring the LORD alone.

    Oct 14 2026

    Welcome to today’s Bible study.

In this episode of 2 Kings 16 (KJV), we continue our verse-by-verse journey through the book of 2 Kings as Ahaz becomes king of Judah and leads the nation deeper into idolatry. This chapter explores disobedience, idolatry, leadership, judgment, compromise, and God's holiness.

Ahaz does not follow the LORD as David did. He sacrifices to false gods and even makes his son pass through the fire. As Syria and Israel attack Judah, Ahaz seeks help from Tiglath-pileser king of Assyria instead of trusting the LORD.

Ahaz sends silver and gold from the temple and royal treasury to Assyria and later copies an altar he sees in Damascus. He replaces the altar of the LORD with his own designs and alters the temple worship according to his desires.

Through this chapter, we see the danger of compromising God's commands and trusting political power instead of the LORD. Ahaz's choices reveal how idolatry can corrupt both leadership and worship.

This chapter explores leadership, obedience, rebellion, judgment, faithfulness, and God's sovereignty.

Azariah becomes king of Judah and does what is right in the sight of the LORD, yet the high places remain. Meanwhile, Israel sees a rapid succession of kings as political violence and conspiracy increase. Shallum, Menahem, Pekahiah, and Pekah each take the throne during a period of instability and conflict.

Assyria begins to threaten Israel, and Menahem pays tribute to Tiglath-pileser to strengthen his position. Despite these political struggles, the kings of Israel continue in the sins of Jeroboam and lead the nation further from God.

Amaziah follows the LORD, but not with the same faithfulness as David. He executes his father's murderers while obeying the Law of Moses by sparing their children. Oct 11 2026

    Welcome to today’s Bible study.

In this episode of 2 Kings 13 (KJV), we continue our verse-by-verse journey through the book of 2 Kings as Israel faces oppression, repentance, and God's mercy. This chapter explores prayer, repentance, deliverance, faith, prophecy, and God's faithfulness.

Jehoahaz becomes king of Israel and continues in the sins of Jeroboam. Because of Israel's oppression by Syria, Jehoahaz seeks the LORD, and God provides a deliverer. His son Jehoash later reigns and continues the conflict with Syria.

Elisha becomes sick and approaches the end of his life. He instructs Jehoash to strike the ground with arrows as a sign of victory, but the king stops after striking only three times. Elisha declares that Israel will achieve only limited victories over Syria.

Joash reigns in Jerusalem and does what is right in the sight of the LORD while Jehoiada the priest instructs him. Joash commands that the money given for the temple be used to repair its damaged areas. The priests eventually establish a system to collect and manage the funds for the repairs.
