  • Handling Cases of Digital Dangers with Allyson Morin
    Jul 9 2024

Allyson Morin is DCAC’s Thrive Program Victim Advocate and Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Specialist. On this month’s episode, Allyson shares her expertise on handling cases of digital dangers through the CAC model. Since the number of children who find themselves in digital danger has increased, DCAC has created this special position for ICAC cases. There is a lot we can learn from understanding ICAC cases and how they come to be. Although children involved in these cases may have already experienced trauma, Allyson emphasizes the importance of teaching them how to safely navigate the digital world going forward. Allyson makes the strong point to parents and caregivers that taking away digital devices is not solving the problem alone. She says children need education and assistance from adults to navigate safely through the digital world. For resources to help children prevent future digital dangers please visit the sites below.
