• Episode 51 - Amelia Bayler - Ministry of Sound The Annual 15
    Nov 27 2025

Episode 51 of the podcast is one I've wanted to happen for a while... it’s Amelia Bayler!

Amelia is a creative force of nature in the world of music, comedy and musical comedy, and she effortlessly straddles the worlds of Nu Rave, French Touch and Chart friendly house bangers in her musical taste.

It's the first time covering a compilation album on the podcast and the two of us have loads of fun deep diving this Ministry of Sounds, The Annual 15 from 2010 while Amelia also flys the flag for compilation albums as a whole.

But if Ministry of Sound is not your thing we also discuss boobs, ordering drinks while gurning and Weight Watchers yoghurts.

Best enjoyed while on ecstasy with the girlies.

  • Episode 50 - Sam McCann from Sprints - Bon Iver , 22, A Million
    Nov 20 2025

Episode 50 feels like a monumental occasion and it just so happens I've got a monumental guest to mark the big 5.0. From Irish Post- Punk noise makers Sprints, it's Sam Mcann!

We recorded this episode just before show time at a landmark gig for the band at London's Troxy. The iconic venue was awash that evening in a wave of screaming guitars and cathartic chorus'. It was a hell of an evening...

Anyone that's into hearing about Simpsons t-shirts, Ed Sheeran tattoos, face steaming and language barriers at music festivals will get a LOT out of this very fun episode.

But most importantly, we deep dive Sam's relationship with the groundbreaking 2016 release from Bon Iver, 22, a Million.

If Sprints two albums to date aren't enough to keep you satisfied, Sam does give a little tease about what Sprints fans can expect in 2026.

    Enjoy!

  • Episode 49 - Tony McCarroll from Oasis and Kyle Dale from Bittersweet Home
    Nov 13 2025

    I have Oasis'd!

When Propstore held the world's larger ever Oasis memorabilia auction at The Cumberland Hotel, Kyle and Tony were in town to take part in a Q&A happening ahead of the items going under the hammer.

I'm a man of opportunity and was lucky enough to grab twenty minutes with the two of them to discuss all things from Boardwalk 94 to Live 25.

Tony shared some great stories of his first drum kit purchase, the biggest compliment he's ever had for his drumming and the mad time he first met fellow Oasis drummer Zak Starkey.

It's a break from the normal format and a bit shotter then normal, but it's a VERY fun one.

    Enjoy!

  • Episode 48 - James Allen from Cultras Football Podcast - LCD Soundsystem, Sound of Silver
    Nov 6 2025

"Who are ya?! Who are ya?! Who are ya?!"

I'm William Hann, host of the podcast, "THIS Album..." thanks for asking.

For episode 48 I'm joined by a man so passionate about football, he's actually created an award nominated podcast about it, from Cultras, it's James Allen!

    Jesus, where do I start?

James, is a comedian, broadcaster, writer and actor and it was a joy to be welcomed into his home to discuss LCD Soundsytem's ground breaking sophmore album, Sound of Silver.

Sound of Silver is widely considered to be one of THE seminal New York albums. In this humble podcasters opinion, it might just be the greatest album of all time. So this is a BIG episode.

The album touches on hedonism, loss, friendship, growing up, gentrification, hipsterdom, escape, identity and it does all this with a level of gravitas and intelligence that was unrrivalled in the mid 00's or any era for that matter!

So rather then discussing these things we talk about getting high on lemon sips, Liverpool's Ecru away kit in the 90's and regional table tennis tournaments on The Wirral.

Best enjoyed home in the late night.

  • Episode 47 - Louise Schofield - Arctic Monkeys - Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not
    Oct 30 2025

I can’t believe it’s taken 47 episodes to get here, but finally we get to cover Arctic Monkeys seismic debut album - Whatever People Say I Am, That’s What I’m Not.

An album this important requires a great guest and I was in VERY good hands for this one. From Spill The Sound and behind the decks of the indiest of discos near you, it’s Louise Schofield!

Louise’s content is a joy to behold.

On Spill The Sound Louise gives a platform for young bands to have the kind of MTV / T4 experience that those a generation behind took for granted.

It’s also, a proper laugh and loads of fun.

Louise and I had such great time talking about the impact four lads from Sheffield had on us. We talk haircuts, drinking in parks, first gig confessions, pre drinks in Nottingham. All the important subjects.

Untuck those socks from your trackie bottoms, believe the hype and enjoy episode 47 of “THIS Album…!”

  • Episode 46 - Felix White from The Maccabees - The Futureheads, New & Tributes
    Oct 23 2025

Well this is basically what this podcast nonsense has all been leading up to....

Do I really need to introduce Felix White....?

Amongst the MANY things that Felix does, he is in one of the very best bands to ever do it , The Maccabees.

Getting to spend 60 minutes talking to a man who has had such a big impact on my life was a dream come true.

Sure, a large part of this episode was me talking "at" Felix and telling him about the numerous times I've cried my eyes out at the countless Maccabees shows I've been to over the last 20 years. But we also talk Red Button anxieties, playing Latchmere when you're 50 and Oasis (naturally).

Felix's album of choice is an underdog album from Sunderland's finest - The Futureheads. We have so much fun deep diving the often overlooked record that he so rightly champions.

Felix is set to release his second book, Whatever Will Be Will Be - A Matter of Life and Football will be released on the 30th of October. If it's half as good as his previous book then this is going to be a very special read, so get that pre order in.

It's available in some bad book shops and all good ones.

You can listen to this episode at the link in bio or you can watch it on Youtube or Spotify, no need to take your Precious Time about it.

  • Episode 45 - Propstore Music Memorabilia Auction Extravaganza
    Oct 16 2025

This might surprise listeners, but Podcasting is not my day job.

Five days a week, I'm Sales Manager at London's Cumberland Hotel and on the 21st of October Propstore will be bringing their treasure trove of musical history to my place of work.

It's only right I got them on the podcast to discuss.

  • Episode 44 - Amy Matthews - Chappell Roan - The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess
    Oct 9 2025

Episode 43 of the podcast see's me joined by the face of modern comedy and the voice of English history, it's Amy Matthews!

This is definitely a top tier episode, Amy was an absolute joy to speak with and we had a LOT of fun talking about one of the best pop stars of a generation, the almighty Chappell Roan.

But not just life affirming pop perfection, we also discuss Synesthesia, making scrambeld eggs with your partner and street dance.

So yeah, we cover a lot of ground.

Amy is about to release a genre-defying comedy album titled Commute with The Foxes on a gorgeous vinyl or classic MP3 via Monkey Barrell Records.

You can catch Amy hosting the English Heritage Podcast and you can see her perform - I Feel Like I'm Made of Spiders on ITV X right now!

Now if you need me, I'll be wearing a bodice, trying to learn the HOT TO GO dance while drinking port.

    Enjoy!
