On this episode, we are joined by William Person, a 9-year Team USA Olympic Bobsled athlete, who jumps right into an important and timely conversation about CTE, traumatic brain injury (TBI), and long-term neurological health. William shares what he has learned through his athletic career and how that knowledge directly applies to helping veterans and first responders who have endured repeated physical and psychological trauma. William’s journey into advanced healing began with an introduction from Joe Namath, who opened his eyes to the potential benefits of Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy. Together, they discuss how these therapies can support recovery, improve quality of life, and offer hope to those still fighting invisible battles. Musically, Frank introduces us to Sal, a Marine Corps veteran living in Nashville. After 9/11, Sal joined the Marines and served in Iraq, where he survived being blown up seven times. He lost a limb—and even more painfully, he lost his teammate and brother, Matt Lynch. Returning home, Sal carried deep survivor’s guilt, masking his pain by becoming the life of the party and leaning into a “rock star” persona. Through time, reflection, and connection—especially with others who understood his experiences—Sal learned he was not alone. Today, he is doing the work, owning his story, honoring his past, and striving to be the best human he can be. 🎶 Music Highlights Song #1 – “Thing I Love the Most” Written after Sal missed his daughter’s first steps while heading to a producer’s house, this song captures the universal ache of missing life’s most important moments due to duty, service, or survival. This one is for anyone who’s ever sacrificed something precious. Song #2 – “Hero” Listen closely—this song carries layers of meaning that speak to service, loss, and resilience. What We’re Working On Wreaths Across America – Thank you for honoring our heroes laid to rest in our national cemeteries. WeP3 Radio – The leading music station featuring songs created, written, produced, and performed by those who have served their country and communities. This episode is a powerful blend of science, service, healing, and music—reminding us that no one fights alone, and healing is possible when we come together.

Some stories don’t just need to be told — they need to be heard. In this episode, we sit down with Chris LaMotte, a Desert Storm–era veteran whose journey home came with challenges many service members quietly carry. Chris opens up about his personal “Magnus story,” sharing how lived experience turned into purpose through the Magnus Veterans Foundation. With a mission rooted in preservation of the force and the family, Magnus focuses on keeping veterans and their loved ones strong, connected, and prepared — before crisis ever hits. Chris talks about the meaningful work Magnus is doing for veterans and families, upcoming events he’s been part of, and innovative tools like the M2K First Aid Kit, designed with real-world experience in mind. His passion for staying connected with the veteran community is unmistakable, and his message is clear: none of us have to walk this road alone. Learn more at MagnusVeteransFoundation.org and MagnusFit.com. We also feature powerful music and conversation with Emily Perkins, a Blue Star mom whose son recently completed his service in the Navy aboard the USS George H.W. Bush. Emily shares the pride, the worry, and the emotional weight of living on the Blue Star line — knowing how close it runs to Gold Star. Widowed by her Gulf War husband, Emily carries a heart big enough to hold both grief and hope, and she is deeply committed to supporting Gold Star families. Emily also shares her music, written straight from lived experience: “The Fire” — her son’s favorite song, about resilience and pushing forward through life’s hardest seasons “I Lost Her” — a deeply personal reflection on sudden loss and the long road toward healing “Circle” — a reminder that while life keeps moving, we can help shape it into something positive Her upcoming song “Spotlight” is dedicated to strong women doing it on their own — and it’s one to watch for. This week’s guests sparked a powerful and meaningful conversation centered on service, family, and healing. Margot joined us to share her deep connection to the military community. Although she did not serve herself, her life has always been intertwined with those who have. She founded a nonprofit dedicated to supporting military families—especially children—by providing programs focused on mental health, resilience, and strengthening family bonds. Her organization is powered by passionate volunteers, including some of the highest-ranking military leaders, all committed to supporting mental health within the service community. Margot also works with Tours of Duty (toursofduty.org), an organization that trains veterans to assist in search and recovery missions for MIA and POW cases. Founded by Amanda Rutlidge, Tours of Duty is made up of an exceptionally skilled and dedicated team, and Margot shared how honored she is to be part of that mission. On the music side of the show, we welcomed David Brown of David & The Dirty Sinners. David talked about the band’s journey—filling in with award-winning musicians and continuing to push forward despite the uphill climb. He explained the meaning behind “The Dirty Sinners,” embracing the idea that you can fall, fail, and still get back up and keep going. We also loved the discussion around music authenticity—David shared his belief that music should be real, drawn from lived experience, not manufactured or created by AI or those who haven’t lived the stories they sing about. This week’s guests delivered a truly first-rate and powerful conversation. Documentary filmmaker Conrad Weaver joined us to share his deep passion for telling the stories of PTSD and trauma faced by first responders and those who serve. Conrad spoke candidly about how trauma often exists before someone ever puts on a uniform—and how those buried experiences can resurface when situations become overwhelming. His documentary PTSD 911 left a lasting impact on us years ago, making it especially moving to sit down with the man who brought those stories, and the responders within them, to life. Conrad also reflected on his 2023 coast-to-coast bicycle journey, completed in just 65 days to promote the film. The ride became a personal proving ground, teaching him that growth often comes from discomfort and suffering—challenging the idea that hardship should be avoided. Looking ahead, Conrad is launching a new website, expanding work with first responder agencies, hosting an upcoming Leadership Summit, and releasing a book this spring chronicling his 65-day ride and the lessons learned along the way. Musically, we were joined by Michael Allen, an incredibly talented and thoughtful artist. Michael connected deeply with the themes of trauma discussed by Conrad, sharing some of his own experiences. He’s preparing to release a new EP and a new song in mid-to-late January, while also expanding into non-service-related music to reach a broader audience. Featured Songs: Blood – raw and powerful, speaks for itself War Machine – a fitting reflection on mental health and Conrad’s mission Lingering Love – a relatable look at love that fades but never fully disappears What We’re Working On: Wreaths Across America – Thank you for honoring our heroes laid to rest at national cemeteries WeP3 Radio – the leading music station featuring music created, written, produced, and performed by those who have served their country and communities 🎥 Watch the full episode on YouTube: This Week’s Episode – click here Next Week’s Guest (December 21, 2025): Margo LaPoint – Military Kids Retreats AND musician David Brown with David and the Dirty Sinners

Last night’s episode was a true “shoot-from-the-hip” session with the WeP3 team. With both scheduled guests tied up elsewhere, Mark, Frank, and Andrea stepped in and did what they do best—kept the conversation rolling and had a great time doing it. This episode has a laid-back, behind-the-scenes feel, and we hope you enjoy listening as much as we enjoyed recording it. We also took time to spotlight Frank’s work as an author, highlighting his writing journey, the efforts he’s made to get his books out into the world, and what projects he has coming up next. Musically, the night was all about fun. The song selections came straight from the WeP3 team, and they did not disappoint.
