    En el último episodio de la primera temporada de Starteando con Iggy, tuve la oportunidad de conversar con un verdadero crack: Carlos Alzate. Carlos es Asesor Senior y actual Gerente General de Colombia en AI Fund, y cuenta con una amplia experiencia trabajando en el mundo de las startups. Antes de esto, trabajó como Científico Investigador y Gerente en IBM Research - Irlanda, y también como Becario Postdoctoral en Research Foundation Flanders - FWO y como Investigador Postdoctoral en K.U.Leuven desde enero.

    La investigación de Carlos se enfoca en el aprendizaje no supervisado y semi-supervisado utilizando métodos basados en kernel, particularmente en el contexto de clustering espectral. Carlos ha desarrollado nuevos modelos incorporando esparcidad, conocimiento previo e información lateral, y representaciones jerárquicas. Carlos Alzate se graduó con una Maestría en Inteligencia Artificial de KU Leuven y un Doctorado en Ingeniería de KU Leuven. Además, Carlos tiene una licenciatura en ingeniería electrónica de la Universidad Nacional de Colombia.

    Durante la entrevista, Carlos compartió con nosotros su historia y cómo llegó al mundo del emprendimiento. También respondió preguntas muy interesantes como: ¿Cuáles son los aspectos a tener en cuenta a la hora de crear una startup? ¿Qué es la defendibilidad de una idea y por qué es importante? ¿Cuáles son los dos principales campos de la inteligencia artificial generativa? ¿Cómo la IA va a impactar el mundo laboral? entre otras muchas preguntas y temas interesantes.
