• Notifications On - Listening to our Body
    Aug 27 2025

Join me, Tammy Roche, for another episode of Social Worker in Private Practice.

Not just for social workers anymore—this podcast dives into the work, the life, and the deeper questions in between.

In this episode, I'm talking about what it really means to tune in when our body is speaking—often louder than we realize. From fatigue and tension, to those subtle nudges we tend to dismiss, our body is constantly sending us notifications. The question is: are we paying attention, or are we too busy silencing the alerts?

I share my own experiences with ignoring the signs until they couldn't be ignored any longer, and what shifted when I finally chose to listen. Learning to honour the signals of our body isn't just about self-care—it's about creating a healthier, more sustainable way of living and working.

If you've been feeling worn out, disconnected, or like your body is waving a red flag you'd rather not see, this episode is an invitation to pause, notice, and respond with compassion.

The podcast will take a short break and will resume with all new episodes in October.

P.S. – Also in October, I'll be participating in the 2025 Shitbox Rally—a car rally fundraiser raising money for Cancer Council. It's a cause that's deeply meaningful to me, and I'd love for you to check it out. You can learn more and support my journey at tammyroche.com/giving-2025-1.

Join me, Tammy Roche, for another episode of Social Worker in Private Practice.

Not just for social workers anymore—this podcast dives into the work, the life, and the deeper questions in between.

In this episode, I explore the different ways we try to "keep the peace," from the chronic accommodator and the avoider, to the fixer, the chameleon, the overfunctioner, and the self-silencer. For years, I wore more than one of those hats, believing it was my job to smooth things over.

I've learned that sometimes you have to embrace discomfort in the moment to protect your well-being in the long term. Avoiding it might keep everyone else comfortable for a moment, but it can quietly drain you over time.

I'm sharing what it's looked like to choose real peace over false harmony, and how stepping into the hard moments has brought more calm into my life—not less.

P.S. – This October, I'll be participating in the 2025 Shitbox Rally—a car rally fundraiser raising money for Cancer Council. It's a cause that's deeply meaningful to me, and I'd love for you to check it out. You can learn more and support my journey at tammyroche.com/giving-2025-1.

  • 080 The Truth About Letting Go
    Aug 6 2025

Join me, Tammy Roche, for another episode of Social Worker in Private Practice.

Not just for social workers anymore— this podcast dives into the work, the life, and the deeper questions in between.

In this episode, I'm talking about what it really means to let go. Not in a surface-level, & just move on; kind of way, but the deeper, often uncomfortable process of releasing control, expectations, and the stories we've been carrying for too long.

Letting go doesn't mean giving up. It means making space for growth, for peace, for whatever's next. I'm sharing what that's looked like in my own life, how it's shown up in my work, and the messy, real truth behind it all.

If you've been holding on to something out of fear, habit, or identity, I hope this episode reminds you that release is possible and powerful.

  • Busy Was My Drug of Choice
    Jul 30 2025

Join me, Tammy Roche, for another Episode of Social Worker in Private Practice.

Not just for social workers anymore—this podcast dives into the work, the life, and the deeper questions in between.

In this episode, I'm getting honest about something that's shaped a big part of my journey: being busy. For a long time, being busy wasn't just a habit; it was my coping mechanism, my distraction, my way of avoiding the hard stuff underneath.

We live in a culture that praises hustle and productivity, but at what cost? I'm unpacking how I came to see that "busy" was my drug of choice and what it looked like to step away from that cycle.

If you've ever tied your worth to your to-do list or felt uneasy in the quiet moments, this episode might resonate. You're not alone, and there's another way to be.

P.S. – This October, I'll be participating in the 2025 Shitbox Rally—a movement-based fundraiser raising money for Cancer Council. It's a cause that's deeply meaningful to me, and I'd love for you to check it out. You can learn more and support my journey at tammyroche.com/giving-2025-1.

  • Let Them See You Work
    Jul 23 2025

Join me, Tammy Roche, for another Episode of Social Worker in Private Practice.

Not just for social workers anymore—this podcast dives into the work, the life, and the deeper questions in between.

In this episode, I'm exploring the idea of letting people see the work—not just the outcome.

In private practice and in life, we often feel pressure to present the polished version. The perfectly planned schedule. The fully booked caseload. The well-edited website. But what about everything it takes to get there? The effort, the trial and error, the real behind-the-scenes?

This conversation is your reminder that the work is the magic. And it's okay—more than okay—to let people see it. Whether it's messy, in progress, or still finding its footing… it's still valuable. Let them see it.

P.S. - this October I'll be participating in the 2025 Shitbox Rally - a movement-based fundraiser raising money for Cancer Council. It's a cause that's deeply meaningful to me, and I'd love for you to check it out. You can learn more and support my journey at tammyroche.com/giving-2025-1.

Join me, Tammy Roche, for another Episode of Social Worker in Private Practice.

I chat all things private practice: the biz and a bit of life.

In this episode, I'm talking about Your Voice. In a world full of noise... opinions, expectations, and advice - it's easy to lose track of your own voice. Especially in private practice, where there's no shortage of outside input about how you should be doing things. This episode is about tuning out the pressure and tuning in to yourself.

Whether you've been second-guessing decisions, comparing your path to someone else's, or just feeling pulled in too many directions, this conversation is a reminder that your voice should be the loudest one in the room. It matters - and it's worth listening to.

Also, this October I'll be participating in the 2025 Shitbox Rally - a movement-based fundraiser raising money for Cancer Council. It's a cause that's deeply meaningful to me, and I'd love for you to check it out. You can learn more and support my journey at tammyroche.com/giving-2025-1.
