Slam Poem is an educational poetry and spoken-word podcast created and hosted by Fermín Gramajo. Built around the belief that poetry is not simply something to read, Slam Poem presents poetry as something to hear, perform, interpret, question, experience, and feel.

Through original slam poetry, spoken-word performance, storytelling, creative writing, music, and collaboration, Slam Poem explores friendship, relationships, loyalty, love, frustration, memory, identity, conflict, change, and human connection. Voice, rhythm, pacing, silence, imagery, tone, and delivery are treated as part of the meaning—not just the words themselves.

Slam Poem began as an educational poetry project and was first published on March 16, 2023. The project was developed with Fermín Gramajo, Saritha Ventura, and Leyla Lindo, with “Friends ’till We Die” becoming the work that introduced the original concept and its focus on friendship, distance, change, and the complicated connections between people.

What began as a school project grew into a broader creative platform. The Slam Poem catalog has since expanded through additional poems, performers, collaborators, preview episodes, alternate presentations, acapella versions, music, and other audio experiences.

Works connected to the Slam Poem catalog include “Friends ’till We Die,” “The Business,” “Years That Will Never Come Back,” “Love and Frustration,” “Madre,” “Aún Así,” and additional preview and alternate versions. Contributors across the project have included Leyla Lindo, Saritha Ventura, Genesis Abrego, Gaby Campos, Alondra Sanchez, Angie Vallejo, and others.

Slam Poem is educational without requiring listeners to already understand poetry or literary terminology. It encourages listeners to pay attention to language, imagery, emotion, structure, perspective, performance, voice, and interpretation while leaving room for every listener to experience a poem differently.

The project is for poetry listeners, students, writers, creators, spoken-word fans, and anyone interested in how language can preserve emotion, tell stories, challenge perspective, and create connection.

Today, Slam Poem continues as an evolving poetry and spoken-word project under Pher G LLC, with Fermín Gramajo as its creator and host. Its growing catalog connects poetry, performance, storytelling, education, music, collaboration, and digital media while remaining rooted in one central idea: Poetry is not only meant to be read—it can be heard, performed, remembered, and felt.
