    Mary Vincent is an American woman known for surviving a brutal assault in 1978 when she was attacked by Lawrence Singleton while hitchhiking in California. Singleton severed both of her arms and left her for dead, but Vincent miraculously survived by crawling to safety and later identified her attacker. She became a powerful symbol of resilience and courage, testifying against Singleton and later advocating for victims’ rights and stronger sentencing laws.
