Justin Hampton has been creating powerful and resonant artwork since 1990. His bold line work and sublime color palette mixed with a vivid imagination are unmistakable. His work can be seen in galleries, clubs and homes around the globe. Hampton’s work has been published a multitude of books including the definitive tome of the gig poster genre; The Art of Modern Rock. Justin was also prominently highlighted in the documentary movie ‘American Artifact, the rise of American rock poster art.’ The film is in the permanent collection of The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland. Hampton’s collaborative poster for the movie with his cohorts in Post Neo Explosionism (or PNE) was also added to the museum’s archives. Seattle’s Museum of Pop Culture (MoPOP) has archived countless numbers of his prints and originals for their permanent museum collection as well.

His influences are pop culture based from street art and Skate-Punk to comic book greats like Jack Kirby as well as the Post-Impressionist work of Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec. Justin has designed posters for a who's who list of the music industry since the mid 90's. Hampton designed artwork for the global viral sensation, the ‘Grey Album’ for Danger Mouse. His rock posters have also appeared in various television shows and motion pictures as well.

His clients have included Rolling Stone, Guitar World, Lollapalooza, Spin, Interscope Records, Village Voice, Sports Illustrated, Maxim, Vibe, FHM, Oakley Goggles, Target, Dreamworks, Empire, ESPN Magazine, Details, Spike and Mike’s Twisted Animation Festival, Bravado, Blender, Seattle’s Showbox & The Paramount Theatres, Dr Marten Shoes and Snowboarder as a short list. Justin was also one of the original artists of the global phenomenon of Magic: The Gathering by Wizards of the Coast.

Hampton’s comic books ‘Twitch’ and ‘Rat’ have also received rave reviews. His animated short ‘The Jaded Monk’, based on a character of his own creation, was accepted to the 2002 Seattle International Film Festival and the 2003 One Reel Festival.

Welcome to Season 5, Episode 18, of "Secondhand Talent: The Podcast"!!! We're so happy we're here and so, so incredibly grateful for all of your love and support along the way. On behalf of all of us here at Secondhand Talent, Steiner & Steener - WE LOVE YOU, FRANDS!!!

This week we have the pleasure of releasing to you our interview with the dynamic, interstellar duo - The Moon City Masters!!!

    About The Band:

The Moon City Masters are a neo-classic rock band with a contemporary edge and more than a hint of soul and funk. The band, consisting of twin brothers, Jordan and Talor Steinberg, brings together the whole package, with virtuosic playing and singing combined with excellent songcraft and an aesthetic that is all their own. It's the unique MCM vibe that makes outlets like Classic Rock Magazine say that their music is full of "heart, harmonies and rays of California sunshine." Ever since they first picked up their instruments at the tender age of 12 after their dad took them to see the Red Hot Chili Peppers, the brothers have been cranking out riffs and tunes with preternatural ability.

Initially, they both picked up guitars, but Jordan soon switched to bass. Over the course of the next several years, they honed their singing and playing chops to a fine edge. The band kicked their songwriting into overdrive when they started working with Grammy-nominated producer, Justin Craig. The band released their debut E.P., “The Adventures of the Moon City Masters” in late 2019. Since then, they’ve been hard at work recording and releasing singles. They will be playing dates around the country as the world opens up again. They can’t wait to see you there.
