Welcome to Roxy's World Adventures, a storytelling podcast for people who are craving more than another vacation, another weekend, or another way to escape their daily routine. This is a podcast for those who feel disconnected from themselves, burned out by modern life, overwhelmed by constant noise, and searching for something deeper.

Hosted by Roxy, adventurer, storyteller, solo traveler, and outdoor enthusiast, this podcast explores the powerful connection between adventure, nature, history, culture, personal growth, and self-discovery. Through immersive storytelling, thought-provoking reflections, and unforgettable journeys, each episode is designed to inspire you to step outside your comfort zone and reconnect with the parts of yourself that may have been lost beneath responsibilities, expectations, and routine.

At its heart, Roxy's World Adventures is about transformation.

It's about discovering that solo travel is not loneliness—it's self-discovery.

It's about realizing that nature can heal what overstimulation destroys.

It's about understanding that adventure is not reserved for the fearless. It is available to anyone willing to take one courageous step forward.

Every week you'll be taken on a journey through breathtaking landscapes, fascinating historical sites, hidden cultural gems, mysterious locations, national parks, and stories that reveal how travel can change not only where we go, but who we become.

Roxy's World Adventures was born from personal experience.

After being diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis at a young age, Roxy spent years searching for answers and learning how to overcome limitations. When the right treatment finally made outdoor adventure possible, hiking, climbing, travel, and exploration became more than hobbies—they became a pathway to freedom.

Later, after navigating a difficult relationship and a season of deep personal reflection, solo adventures in nature became a catalyst for healing and self-discovery. Long hours spent hiking through forests, exploring unfamiliar places, and embracing solitude revealed an important truth: the most meaningful journeys are often the ones that transform us from the inside out.

Those experiences inspired a mission.

To help others realize that life becomes bigger when we stop waiting.

When we stop postponing adventure.

When we stop allowing fear to make decisions for us.

When we choose curiosity over comfort.

Whether you're an experienced traveler, an aspiring adventurer, a lover of history, a seeker of personal growth, or someone simply looking for inspiration to live more intentionally, you'll find a place here.

This podcast is for the dreamers.

The explorers.

The overthinkers.

The healers.

The people rebuilding their confidence.

The people searching for meaning.

The people who feel the pull of distant mountains, winding trails, hidden stories, and the possibility of becoming more than they are today.

Because the greatest adventure isn't always the destination.

It's the person you become along the way.

So grab your hiking boots, pack your curiosity, and join us as we explore the world one story at a time.

Welcome to Roxy's World Adventures.

Adventure is calling.

  • Episode 16: Park Predators - The Zodiac: The Killer Who Wanted to be Remembered
    Oct 12 2026

We will trace the Zodiac case from the earliest attacks in Northern California through the letters, ciphers, and media attention that made an unsolved investigation a lasting cultural mystery. Through a travel-history lens, we explore how places such as Lake Herman Road, Lake Berryessa, and San Francisco carry stories beyond their scenic landscapes. The episode follows the case’s major events and examines how the killer used symbols and coded messages to build a public identity. We will also discusse the danger of letting compelling theories become accepted as fact—and of allowing the mystery to overshadow the victims.

    Key topics

    • Northern California in the late 1960s, and why the geography of the case matters
    • The Lake Herman Road murders of teenagers David Faraday and Bettye Lou Jensen
    • The attack on Darlene Ferrin and Michael Mageau, and the importance of Mageau’s survival
    • The Zodiac’s letters, symbol, and attempts to command public attention
    • The 408 and 340 ciphers, including what their solutions did—and did not—reveal
    • The Lake Berryessa attack on Bryan Hartnell and Cecelia Shepard
    • The murder of taxi driver Paul Stine and a consequential police radio error
    • Major suspects and why the case remains officially unresolved
    • How places can become associated with tragedy and mystery

  • Episode 15: Paranormal Parks - The Ghosts of Trans-Allegheny: America's Most Haunted Asylum
    Oct 5 2026

We travel to Weston, West Virginia, to explore the Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum as both a historic institution and a famous haunted location. The episode traces the building’s original vision, the realities of overcrowding and institutional decline, and the stories of paranormal activity reported by visitors and staff. Rather than focusing only on ghost stories, I ask listeners to consider the real people who lived and worked at the asylum—and how history, architecture, memory, and expectation can shape our experience of a place.

    Key topics

    • The asylum’s original design and the treatment philosophy associated with Thomas Story Kirkbride
    • 19th-century mental health reform and Dorothea Dix’s advocacy
    • The gap between an intended population of about 250 and reports of more than 2,400 residents by 1915
    • The importance of approaching the institution’s difficult history with respect
    • The asylum’s Civil War-era construction, decline, and closure in 1994
    • Reported apparitions, voices, and other unexplained experiences
    • How to stay curious about the paranormal while distinguishing personal experience from proof
    • Why the human stories behind a location matter as much as its legends
