• Ep 45 - God's Plan
    Jan 8 2026

In this episode, Jeffrey and Troy discuss the often confusing nature of what it is that Higher Power wants for us in this life. Higher Power certainly does not want us to be in constant pain and anguish because of acting out in our sex and porn addiction. Is there a better way? Yes, there is. Higher Power always has a plan. Jeffrey and Troy discuss how they have come to realize and carry out Higher Power's plan in their lives.

  • Ep 44 - Next Right Action
    Dec 22 2025

In this episode, Jeffrey gets into how taking the next right action immediately after acting out helped him bounce back from his relapse with "social media porn". Taking the next right action is a common recovery slogan, and it is common because of how well it works. If we just acted out, or are in fear that we are about to, distracting ourselves by taking the next right action is the shortcut back into recovery. Jeffrey and Troy provide their insight into this very useful program tactic, which can help all of us rebound from relapse, or even just maintain focus on our daily recovery journey.

  • Episode 43 - This time it will be different
    Sep 1 2025

In this episode, Jeffrey and Troy discuss one of the most dangerous character defects: Denial. Denial holds all of us back from true sobriety in our recovery, especially sex and porn addiction. If we are in denial, we are not able to face the daily challenges that will inevitably pull us back into the grip of active addiction. Jeffrey explains how denial and pride have held him back from the sobriety he has been seeking in his life, and Troy gives his take using 12 step recovery program principles.

We hope you enjoy this episode.

We apologize for the gaps between episodes where we miss a month every once in a while. The two of us try our best to keep the podcast going amidst our daily lives, and our commitment to our own recovery. We have hired some more help to administrate the podcast and make it much smoother for us, so we hope moving forward we will be able to publish episodes more consistently for all you who listen.

We see that you all enjoy the podcast. We see all the countries you're from, and we are astounded at the reach we have amongst our fans despite being a fledgling podcast. We love you all and appreciate the fact that you "keep coming back" to listen! Let's all make it a sober day today! One day at a time...

  • Ep 42 - To God, to Ourselves and to another Human Being
    Jul 25 2025

Ep 42 - To God, to Ourselves and to another Human Being

In this episode, Jeffrey and Troy discuss the depth behind this phrase within the fifth step, and how to apply this thinking to our daily life in recovery. Addiction is a threefold disease: the allergy of the body, the obsession of the mind, and the spiritual malady. So we have a threefold solution: receving support from God, ourselves, and another human being. In whatever conception of God (Higher Power) that works for us. The fifth step is not a one time thing we finish with our sponsor and then move on. The twelfth step says "practicing these principles within our lives", which implies that we can take the learnings of each step with us to use within our day to day, moment to moment journey of recovery.

  • EP 41 - The God of Our Understanding
    May 1 2025

Jeffrey and Troy talk about how in 12 step programs, we are encouraged to define our own conception of our higher power. Nobody will force on you a certain belief system in 12 step programs, which is a relief to many newcomers. They discuss how their own conceptions of God have changed over the course of their recovedy journey, touch on atheism in recovery, as well as give advice to newcomers who are just getting started with "the God concept". Hope you enjoy this episode!

  • EP 40 - Make The Days Count
    Mar 24 2025

In this epsiode, Jeffrey and Troy discuss the somewhat touchy subject of day count. Day count in AA or other substance abuse programs represents a tangible metric of sobriety. But what about in the Sex and Porn addiction space? Day count can be somewhat difficult to determine because there are so many behaviors that may be unhealthy for us, rather than simply one thing. Jeffrey and Troy share their experiences with day count in all of their program contexts, and intend to relay a message of hope and self-compassion for all of their listeners.

    We hope you enjoy!

  • EP 39 - Wearing Life Like A Loose Garment
    Feb 19 2025

In this episode, Jeffrey and Troy share their experience around the idea of "wearing life like a loose garment". Sometimes taking a step back to recover from life, and even from "recovery fatigue" is important. To stay sober, we also have to live our lives, do our work, and pursue our interests, as well as embrace the 12 step tools. Jeffrey and Troy discuss the importance of finding balance in life and recovery in order to "live life like a loose garment".

  • EP 38 - Becoming "Entirely Ready"
    Jan 6 2025

In this episode, Jeffrey and Troy are accompanied by the legendary Bill and Doctor Bob, straight from 1935. The four of them discuss the sixth step, and what it means to be "entirely ready". This step is often overlooked, but it is critical in overcoming the character defects that keep us mired in our addictive behaviors. Even in sobriety, these defects can prevent us from living a contented, happy life.

Also Jeffrey and Troy apologize for not getting an episode out in December! Jeffrey started a new job recently and things are a bit crazy. We're starting the new year strong and we will keep posting to do our best to spread the message of recovery!

Thank you for a great 2024 and let's get ready for a sober 2025!
