  • The Environment Of Change_ Knowing The Game Part III
    Feb 20 2026
In this chapter of Environment of Change, we step into a different kind of pressure—an environment where faith is not just tested quietly, but publicly challenged and opposed.
Joshua 1:7–9 calls us to be strong, very courageous, and to not be afraid or discouraged because God is with us wherever we go. Daniel 3 shows us what that actually looks like when the heat gets turned all the way up—literally.
Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego were commanded to bow before a golden statue of the king. This wasn’t a small compromise; it was a direct assault on what they believed. Unlike Daniel’s quiet resolve in the last episode, this moment is combative because there’s a third party—those in power—manipulating the situation and trying to force them to assimilate into a system they knew was wrong.
Yet they stood their ground—not out of empty religious ritual, but out of deep, unwavering faith. Their response was radical: “We know our God can save us. But even if He does not, we still will not bow.” That’s faith that isn’t driven by outcomes, but by conviction. Their loyalty to God was not for sale, even under the threat of death.
The king’s rage led to the fiery furnace, heated hotter than ever before. But when he looked in, he didn’t see three men—he saw four. In the midst of the flames, God’s presence was visible. What should have destroyed them became the stage where God’s faithfulness was revealed.
This matters for us because we, too, are often pressured—sometimes subtly, sometimes aggressively—to bow to systems, values, and expectations that contradict what we know is right. People, culture, and institutions may try to manipulate us into compromise. Yet Joshua 1:9 still stands as our anchor: “Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”
    In an environment of change:
    • We refuse to bow to what we know is wrong.
    • We remain faithful, even when the cost is high.
    • We speak truth to power, not from arrogance, but from conviction.
    • We choose courage over comfort, trusting that God is with us in the fire, not just outside of it.

This is the environment we are called to create and live in—one where faith doesn’t fold under pressure, but shines brightest in the heat.

  • The Environment Of Change_ Knowing The Game
    Feb 19 2026
This devotional builds upon God’s command in Joshua 1:7–9, moving beyond understanding into application. While God calls Joshua to be strong, courageous, and rooted in His Word, Part 2 explores what that obedience actually looks like in the life of a believer when tested in real-world situations. Through the lens of Daniel 1, we see a powerful example of faith in action. Daniel is placed in a foreign culture that opposes his beliefs, pressured to conform and compromise. Yet instead of reacting with defiance or drawing attention to himself, Daniel responds with wisdom, humility, and quiet confidence in God. He does not “perform religion”—he lives out his faith. By proposing a simple challenge rather than creating conflict, Daniel demonstrates that standing firm in God does not require aggression, but conviction. At the end of the test, Daniel’s obedience produces visible results—he is stronger, healthier, and set apart not by force, but by faithfulness. This devotional reminds us that knowing the Word (Joshua 1:8) and standing firm in it (Joshua 1:7) leads to a life that naturally reflects God’s presence (Joshua 1:9). “Knowing the Game – Part 2” challenges believers to understand that being set apart is not about trying to fit into a world that opposes God, but about faithfully walking with Him in such a way that your life becomes the evidence. It’s not about blending in—it’s about believing boldly, living wisely, and trusting God to handle the outcome.

  • Environment Of Change_ Knowing The Game
    Feb 18 2026
This devotional drawn from Joshua 1:7–9 that reminds believers that courage is not built from nothing — it grows from what God has already placed within us. While verses 7 and 8 highlight remembering God’s teachings and staying grounded in His Word, they serve as encouragement rather than mere obligation. God was showing Joshua that he already possessed the experience, wisdom, and preparation needed for the journey ahead. The true command comes into focus in verse 9: be strong, be courageous, do not be afraid, and do not give up. This devotional emphasizes that walking the narrow path is challenging, but we are never unequipped or alone. By remembering what God has done before and remaining anchored in His Word, we gain confidence to face change, overcome fear, and move forward knowing that God goes with us wherever we step.
