• 8 - We come from story tellers - we ARE story tellers. How do you nurture that curiousity?
    Oct 26 2026
Welcome to another episode with Puti - we are joined here today with Savannah Kerekere (Rongowhakaata, Ngāti Oneone, Te Aitanga a Māhaki) a māmā, artist and Arts Facilitator in Ōtepoti. Moewai and Savannah share some of their learnings from a recent journey to Kaitaia where they explored pūrākau, our stories and how much these stories teach us about ourselves and each other. We dig deep into those imposter thoughts we have of not feeling Māori enough, to reclaiming our identity and re-writing the stories for our inner child. The child who took up space, spoke out, and always chased that little spark. We begin to nurture those seeds of curiousity and remember where that comes from - it comes from our younger self. This kōrero brings us both into a place of acceptance, belonging and aroha for the little us who is excited to hear our stories - to hear YOUR stories. Lets share them together. • 7 - Te Kore - Te Pō - Te Ao Marama
    Oct 19 2026
In this episode of Putiputi Pod, Justin Hanning (Kāi Tahu, Waitaha, Kāti Māmoe) invites us to reflect on life not as a linear process but as a spiral, shifting through these spaces of Te Kore, Te Pō, Te Ao Marama and how everything is always in a state of becoming. Before the Putiputi becomes something it is a seed, and there is great potential in the space that is unseen. We kōrero about how Kōanga (Spring) reminds us of our own responsibilities because we've done all that mahi in Winter preparing the garden, we can ask ourselves now - what are we going to plant? What am I going to leave behind and carry forward from our tūpuna for those that are yet to come? We've come through the long nights, Justin says we can see the reason why we had faith, love and trust in the universe because we start seeing all the blossoming of those relationships come to life. This time of year, go notice the light, listen, step outside - go look for something beginning to grow! She is a māmā, an artist, and as Marewa says in this episode she is "a tauira of everything." We reflect on the world of mahi toi, creativity and some of the blocks and fears we may experience in these spaces. We also reflect on the world of light that can exist once we start using creativity as a tool to heal, to learn and to connect with ourselves even deeper. Join us as we connect to some of Marewa's earliest sparks of creativity and how she has continued to water her own Putiputi Pods. • 1 - Planting the seed of Putiputi Pod
    Jun 29 2026
The first seed has been planted. This episode introduces my younger self, "Puti," and the intention of this space. This is a place where creativity, curiosity, and the wisdom of our inner child can gently unfold. There is no rush here, no perfect way of being—only an invitation to notice, wonder, and reconnect to our younger selves. This podcast isn't about having all the answers—it's about asking questions and noticing the little things. I hope this seedling of Putiputi Pod reminds you to bloom in your own time, so... Nau mai, haere mai ki Putiputi Pod! Let's bloom—together. Ko au te Putiputi, ko te Putiputi ko au.
