The U.S. Supreme Court ruled on Friday that the broad tariffs President Donald Trump justified with national emergency powers — including the 35 per cent imposed on non-CUSMA-compliant Canadian goods — are illegal, leading Trump to immediately announce a global 10 per cent tariff through a different legal avenue.
