  • Special 2009 - Eddie 'El Presidente' McGuire
    Oct 1 2009

A special Pie Night edition. Driver, Murf and Conno present a candid interview with the one and only Eddie McGuire — El Presidente. Eddie Everywhere. The man who somehow simultaneously runs a football club, hosts The Footy Show, fronts Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, commentates across the radio dial, and still manages to be physically present at every significant moment in the competition. The most passionate, connected, and entertaining football man in the country — and the single most invested human being on the planet when it comes to the Collingwood Football Club.

    Special: Magpie Radio Interview, 2009

Eddie McGuire has been Collingwood president since 1998 and has transformed the club from financial basket case to one of the most powerful organisations in the AFL. He speaks candidly about the 2009 season, what it means to lead this club, the extraordinary talent in the current group, and exactly where he sees the Pies heading. It's Eddie. It's Collingwood. It doesn't get more essential than this.

  • Round 1 2009 - Simon 'Presti' Prestigiacomo
    Mar 26 2009

Driver, Murf and Conno launch the 2009 season with the man who defines what a Collingwood defender looks like — Simon "Presti" Prestigiacomo. The bloke who inherited Peter Daicos' sacred #35 guernsey and wore it with a distinction that made you forget anyone had ever worn it before. Converted from forward to key defender by Danny Frawley, Presti has spent the better part of a decade becoming one of the most respected backs in the competition. He's got north of 190 games in black and white, was a cornerstone of the 2002 Grand Final side, and Jonathan Brown — the toughest full forward in the game — has called him the hardest man he's ever played on. And 2009? His preseason would suggest he's ready to deliver the best season of his career.

Haiku Bob delivers the season's first poetic offering. Mad Pie is debated with the usual lack of consensus.

On This Round: Round 1, 2009

No review this week — it's Round 1. The boys look ahead to Adelaide at Football Park: a tough venue, a dangerous opponent, and the perfect opening-night test for a Collingwood side with genuine flag ambitions.
