  • How the lingering thought of, 'Which jobs will AI replace?' upsets
    Jun 9 2025

If you are wondering, which jobs will AI replace? Well, your guess is as good as mine. In this musing, I tried to look at one of the ways a looming job replacement due to artificial intelligence (AI) use is likely to trickle down to Africans.

It’s part of a bigger scope on how to brace ourselves, particularly the younger generation, for the challenges ahead as it relates to getting a job and tapping into our human superpower, which is more of what we have to our advantage.

So, while asking: Are AI detectors accurate? Will AI take over the world? Or debating why AI is bad for the environment, or how AI affects the environment. Maybe we should be looking into how AI works. Or why AI is good. Or how do I use AI? All in addition to whatever area of study we are working to specialise in.

Hopefully, these talking points will help us prepare for the future jobs we all desire or hope to serve humanity in. When we focus on understanding what artificial intelligence means, what artificial intelligence can do, why artificial intelligence is important, where artificial intelligence is used, and how artificial intelligence is transforming the world, etc., we are likely to have a keener sense of how to empower ourselves for the future.

  • Namibia’s Visa Shift: A New African Power Play?
    Mar 31 2025

What is Namibia famous for? Visa? I doubt it.

So what happens when this African nation changes the game with its global visa policies? Well, your guess is as good as mine. Namibia is proceeding with its decision to implement a new visa policy that has sparked global interest. Namibia will now require visas for citizens of countries that do not offer visa-free access to Namibians. Laudable.

Namibia is located in southern Africa. It recently elected its first female president, HE Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah. Not the biggest country on the continent, but its quiet and bold visa policy shift speaks volumes. Namibia just sent a powerful message to the world: No more one-sided visa policies.

The move raises questions about its potential economic and political impact even when it seems like a strategic move and a risky gamble move at the same time.

Why should African nations keep their doors open when the world keeps theirs shut? In this episode of Olusegun Musing, we dive into Namibia’s bold new visa policy, demanding reciprocity from countries that restrict Namibian travelers. What does this mean for Africa’s place in global diplomacy? Could this spark a continent-wide movement for visa fairness?

Listen to me musing out loud. Subscribe for more sharp takes.

  • Be diligent to actualize your God-given dream
    May 18 2021

Be it in the tech world or any other field, being a believer in God is not the only recipe you need to succeed with your dreams or whatever ideas come to you. That's my take in this week's episode of the African Brief podcast. God is willing to do His part and that's why He trusted you, as an individual, with the unique idea. But you have to do your part. You have to pursue the dream diligently so that what you know, and continue to develop over time, would bring out your unique gift to produce something of immense benefit to others.

If you share a contrary view as held by some, let's know what's your take on this topic. Any comment or suggestion would be appreciated. Drop us an email at africanbrief@gmail.com and we'll be glad to read from you. Have a great week.
