• Episode 27: Arbroath (H) Post Match & Dunfermline Preview [Just classic Scottish football]
    Dec 31 2023

Welcome back to Oh No No No - a podcast all about Fife's Finest football club: Raith Rovers

2023 has been a year of many highs and a few lows for the Rovers. While we lost a cup final, we've seen an ambitious consortium take over club and providing the foundation for Ian Murray to set up a team who have thrilled fans with their never say die attitude.

Yet with 30 minutes left to play of football for the year, one of the most outrageously freak incidents occurred at Stark's Park involving Arbroath goalkeeper Ali Adams. For the benefit of those dropping in to hear about this incident, we start talking about it at 32:10.

For our more regular listeners, Robbie is on hosting duties for this one and is joined by regulars Blair, Scott, Carol and John to take a look back at the rest of the 2-2 draw against the red lichties. They also take a look ahead to Tuesday's Fife Derby at East End Park, before asking the big question of what they'd like for 2024.

Thank you for all your support and help during 2023. On behalf of the team, a happy new year to you all when it comes. Here's to a very successful 2024 for the Rovers when it arrives!

  • Episode 23: Dundee United post match [Top of the league and You're no]
    Dec 17 2023

Welcome back to Oh No No No - the unofficial Raith Rovers podcast.

There were 12 (TWELVE) buses of supporters and blue Santa hats a plenty as almost 2000 supporters made the trip over the silvery Tay to take on an unbeaten Dundee Utd in a top of the table clash.

After a first half which saw united have arguably the better of the play without really creating too much to trouble big Kev the teams went in still goalless at the half way point.

The Rovers started the second half on the front foot before a fantastic passage of play saw Sam Stanton finding Dylan Easton with a lovely reverse pass before the Greatest Showman put on a show with great feet, a wee shimmy and a stunning left foot stroke to put Rovers one to the good.

A solid final 30min or so followed and Rovers, ably assisted by the tiger cage of substitutes, saw out a win that leaves us 5 points clear at the top of the Championship.

Duncan is joined by Scott, Blair, John and Robbie to look back at one of the most incredible away days in living memory. We round things off with a customary big question where, inspired by "greetin faced" Derek Adams' insane ramble following his Ross County side's defeat, we ask about the daft things folk say after a defeat.

  • Episode 22: Arbroath Post-Match/Dundee United Pre-Match
    Dec 14 2023

Welcome back to Oh No No No - the unofficial podcast for all things about Fife's Finest football team: Raith Rovers.

You know the drill by now. It's a Scottish Championship match. Raith Rovers are level as the clock ticks over into injury time. Shaun Byrne outstretches his foot to ensure he just nicks in to get a pass off into midfield as three canary jerseys stream down the wing. The ball ends up at the feet of Lewis Vaughan who immediately sizes up the Arbroath full back who is stepping about with all the grace of your work colleague who comes out for the Christmas night out and is absolutely buckled by 9pm.

Vaughan cuts inside, and hits the ball goalwards. A back peddling Colin Hamilton tries to clear it off the line, only to cannon the ball upwards off the bar. The Rovers have done it again. Their players stream down the pitch to celebrate with the away fans. Moments later, the full time whistle goes.

Duncan hosts tonights episode and is joined by Christina, Iain, Blair, Carol and Robbie to look back at Rovers midweek madness and their move back to top of the league (albeit, with a game extra played over Dundee United). The focus then goes to Saturday's mammoth trip to Tannadice where it's a top of the table clash. The big question rounds us off, with a look at January's transfer window.

  • Episode 21: Partick Thistle (H) Post Match [Transformers: Rovers in disguise (Murrayball Rollout)]
    Dec 9 2023

Welcome back to Oh No No No - the unofficial Raith Rovers podcast.

In one of the most outright insane matches of football in recent years at Stark's Park, Rovers came out on top against 3rd place Partick Thistle to move to the summit of the Scottish Championship.

The match opened with recent signing Daniel O'Reilly heading home his first goal to give the home side the breakthrough they deserved. It was one of a number of chances created as the hosts looked like they could well inflict some serious damage on the Maryhill club. That optimism was only buoyed further one minute into the second half when Dylan Easton capitalised on a poor kick from Jamie Sneddon to jink past two defenders and fire into the corner.

But as ever, nothing is smooth sailing in Kirkcaldy. O'Reilly was caught out by a ball at a free kick and accidentaly directed a ball past Dabrowski to give the Jags hope. Brian Graham converted a penalty to draw the game level shortly after. And the comeback was complete for the visitors when Blair Alston got onto a knockback which sent the away fans into raptures.

But this Raith Rovers team doesn't do giving up. Ian Murray rang the changes and brought on Callum Smith, Scott Brown and Aiden Connolly. Smith managed to fire low past Sneddon to restore the game to level terms. And when a quick free kick was fed to Connolly, Smith was again at the heart of an attack cutting the ball back to Sam Stanton to put Rovers 4-3 up.

Duncan is joined by Carol, Scott, Blair and Robbie to look back at one of the most eventful matches in recent years at Starks. They have a brief preview of the match up at Arbroath on Wednesday. And we round things off with a customary big question. This week it's simple: Are we in a title race?
