Welcome to King's Banner Podcast. We got tired of the same ole answers when we started looking for help when it came to our walks with God. So together we go deeper than most would on topics that most people have heard or were taught but never fully understood. It is our way of simplifying concepts that we may have over complicated throughout our lives. Bringing theology and life experience into each episode. It is our hope and desire to help you in your Christian walk.

  • Godfrey Of Bouillon
    Oct 8 2026

A crusader who gives to the poor, prays constantly, fights like a force of nature, and then refuses a crown? We dig into the larger-than-life story of Godfrey of Bouillon and why his life still presses on the modern Church. Along the way, we argue that “examples” are not optional for Christian formation: men become mighty by following mighty models, and history can either train our instincts or leave them soft and confused.

We also wrestle with the present tense questions that keep showing up in our inbox and our conversations as pastors and friends: what does a faithful Christian response look like when a culture loses moral clarity, when secularism hollows out conviction, and when people mistake virtue for spinelessness? We talk about heritage, propaganda, and the danger of forgetting who we are. We challenge the popular misread of “turn the other cheek,” not to glorify violence, but to recover a biblical view of love of neighbor that includes protection, courage, and responsibility.

Then we walk through Godfrey’s lineage, the chroniclers’ descriptions of his character, his leadership under pressure at Antioch, and the emotional moment of reaching Jerusalem, where hardened warriors end up on their knees in worship. The closing scene matters most: offered the title King of Jerusalem, Godfrey refuses it and chooses a name that summarizes the whole theme, defender of the Holy Sepulchre.

If you want more grounded Crusades history, Christian masculinity that isn’t performative, and a clear framework for spiritual warfare and public duty, hit play, share this with a friend, and leave us a review. What part of Godfrey’s story challenges you most?

  • Genesis 2 Explained From Rest To Marriage
    Oct 1 2026

The Garden of Eden is not a children’s story, it’s a blueprint for how reality works. We keep digging into Genesis 2 and follow the text from God’s seventh day rest into the close-up view of humanity’s creation. Along the way we talk about why Sabbath is set apart, why rest is a gift, and why our modern pace often turns “days off” into more grind. We also get into the shift from Elohim to Yahweh Elohim and why God’s covenant name shows up right as He forms mankind.

Then we slow down in Eden. Adam is formed from dust and God breathes life into him, a picture that holds together human weakness and human worth. We tackle the big question people always ask about the tree of the knowledge of good and evil: why put it there at all? Our answer centers on authority and boundaries, not “bad fruit” but the deeper issue of who gets to define good and evil. That theme reaches into everything from parenting and discipline to the way we talk about freedom, license, and what it means to flourish inside God’s good limits.

We finish with Genesis 2 on marriage and one flesh, why work exists before the fall, what it means to be naked and unashamed, and a quick but spicy detour into when angels may have been created. If you’ve ever wanted a grounded Genesis 2 explanation that connects theology to real life, this one is for you. • Genesis And The Battle For Beginnings
    Sep 24 2026

Genesis is where arguments about reality go to fight, because whoever owns the beginning gets to reshape everything downstream: meaning, ethics, identity, and even what counts as “good.” We come at the creation account as more than a debate about timelines. We treat it like the foundation stones of a biblical worldview, and we ask why so many modern stories keep trying to renovate those stones until God is no longer allowed to define His world.

We make a plain language case for six literal days, drawing from the repeated “evening and morning” pattern, the narrative feel of the text, and the way the Bible later ties the work week and Sabbath to God’s creative week. Along the way, we talk about the temptation to explain miracles away, the limits of “and before that,” and why even skeptics still have to account for existence itself. Then we slow down and walk through the days: light before the sun, boundaries between realms, a cosmos filled with stars for seasons, and a creation that’s meant to produce life after its kind.

The center of gravity lands on humanity made in the image of God. We connect Eden to the tabernacle and temple imagery, talk about dominion as stewardship, and push back on cultural narratives that worship nature while treating people as the problem. Genesis says creation is “very good,” and that claim collides with everything from blurred boundaries to attacks on human dignity.
