In this episode, I sit down with my friend and fellow fungi enthusiast Bala Yeruva for a winding conversation about mushrooms, psychedelics, healing, and the strange business of being alive.

We talk psychedelic integration, ponder the nature of reality, and share some tidbits of wisdom we’ve picked up along the windy, twisty path of spiritual healing.

Come wander through the mycelial web with us.

  • How to do FERMENTATION
    Jul 16 2026

Fermentation is one of humanity's oldest technologies, yet somehow it's become one of the most mysterious.

In this episode, I demystify fermentation by exploring what it is, how it works, and why people have relied on it for thousands of years. We get into sauerkraut, kombucha, sourdough, miso, and spruce beer, along with the incredible communities of yeast, bacteria, and fungi that make these foods possible.

I also share one of my favourite low-budget fermentation projects—wild-fermented spruce beer made with yeast collected from the bloom on blueberries and juniper berries—and walk through how to make your first batch of sauerkraut at home.

Along the way we talk about fermentation as preservation, the microbiome, traditional knowledge, and why learning to work with living processes might be one of the most valuable skills we can reclaim in these end times.

So wash out a mason jar, trust the microbes, and let's make something alive.

Episode 1: Canaduh – National Myths, Colonialism & the Stories We Tell Ourselves

Canada is famous for being polite, peaceful, progressive, multicultural, and "the nice one."

But how much of that is reality, and how much is branding?

In this episode of The Lunatic Transgender Wizard, I dismantle some of Canada's most enduring myths through history, personal stories, and current events.

This isn't a patriotic celebration, and it isn't a history lesson.

It's a challenge to look beneath Canada's carefully crafted image and ask what kind of country we really are—and what stories we've been taught to believe.

    The anthem is distorted.

    The tea is hot.

    Let's talk about Canada.

Corporations said they would feed us.

    Landlords claimed the land.

    Dandelions ignored them all.

This week we're talking about gardens. Not as hobbies, but as teachers. Not as decoration, but as resistance. From seed saving and guerrilla gardening to fungal networks, mutual aid, and the magic of reciprocity, we're exploring what plants might know about freedom that humans keep forgetting.

Put on your sun hat, grab your trowel, and meet me in the garden.

  • EVERYONE IS ON DRUGS - Herbs and Mushrooms for Harm Reduction
    May 21 2026

Everyone Is On Drugs — Herbalism, Harm Reduction & The Myth of Sobriety

    Everyone is on drugs.

Coffee. Alcohol. Nicotine. SSRIs. Sugar. Adrenaline. Productivity. Doomscrolling. Religion. Falling in love.

So maybe the strange thing isn’t drugs.

Maybe the strange thing is pretending humans were ever meant to remain sober.

In this episode of Lunatic Transgender Wizard, we explore the mythology of sobriety, drug liberation, harm reduction, approved and criminalized altered states, and why some substances become medicine while others become crime. We discuss herbs and mushrooms for reducing harm, supporting healing, and treating roots rather than symptoms.

    Also:

If God didn’t want us to do drugs…

why is the planet covered in them?

  • Psychedelic Healing: Tips, Tricks, and Truths
    Apr 29 2026

Psychedelics are having a moment — but the vibe is different this time.

In this episode, I get into what psychedelic healing actually looks like beyond the hype. We talk set and setting, microdosing to macrodosing, and why going too deep too fast can backfire. I share some personal experiences (including a period of doing way too much acid) and the biggest lesson that came out of it: baby steps.

We also get into integration — the part most people skip — and why the real work starts after the trip ends.

    Plus:
🍄 a mushroom tea blend to support your nervous system
🔮 a vibes check on why reality itself feels increasingly surreal
🧙 wizard answers to weird questions (including a full moon ritual for leaving behind an old version of yourself)

This isn’t a “psychedelics will fix your life” episode.

It’s about what they open… and what you actually do with that

  • The Tower
    Apr 1 2026

What goes up must come down. You can't have creation without destruction. Death feeds life. When god closes 1 door, she makes a gay window.

These are just some kernels of truth we touch on in this episode about the medicine of The Tower - as represented in the tarot. It's about that moment of sudden breakdown and upheaval that comes when things have become too rigid and controlled. When we are too high in our towers we can become isolated, stuck in restrictive beliefs, and in need of a shake up.
