You may notice I left in a number of oopsies and bloopers. They were kinda funny so they stayed in.

This week we are looking at a few more pages of Policy, Progeny and Pain from Fire and Blood (please do let us know if you are finding our fine tooth combing of this chapter tedious in any way!).

Trigger warning: this is a sad episode. It's a funny chapter too, but there is the death of a child and not everyone is in the mood for that.

We talk dragons and lore, Targaryens and illness, and Beth says "serving swamp" which may be the best thing anyone has ever said at any time ever.

There's also a new cast of characters as Jaehaerys has to fill all the holes left in his court made by The Naughty Shivers.

In addition we have a bit of food chat in the middle thanks to a great question we got from Sanrixian. Stef gets waaaay over excited about it.

Hello to you! Here is the next episode of Kissed By Fire! It's been a while, crocodile, but we're back with more content for your beautiful listening ears.

This episode is depressing. Sorry. No other way to put that. It's got disease, doom, gloom and pretty gross death stuff. It ain't pretty. But we still manage to make (inappropriate?) jokes about it!

This episode is also all about power, who believes they have it and how they really, really don't.

Oh, and Stef nearly breaks up with Beth because of her terrible opinions again. When will Beth learn?!

Also, sorry about Stef's audio. Their mic was being an absolute butthead but in the name of getting this out faster there wasn't much to be done. Please forgive us!

New Chapter Alert!

We thought the last one was long... Well, this new one is in a whole new realm of chapter girth.

We are taking 'The Long Reign, Jaehaerys and Alysanne: Policy, Progeny and Pain' little bit by little bit so we can cover it all in the depth we enjoy, without ruining ours and everyone's lives by making a 48 hour episode you have to listen to.

In this instalment we head off and away from Kings Landing, following in the steps of curious adventurers. We leave behind Targaryens and dragons swapping them for the Hightowers and a certain Alys Westhill.

But don't worry this episode is teeming with monsters of all sorts including krakens, leviathans and mystery beasts.

We've also got Biblical storms, Greek mythology, gene splicing, and a whole host of tropical diseases we are sure GRRM enjoyed naming.

The next episode for your lovely ears. This is the moment we close the chapter, "Jaehaerys And Alysanne: Their Triumphs and Tragedies".

We recorded this earlier in November and we were beset by several technical issues, including Stef's audio/internet totally failing for a good while. So apologies for the slow speed of getting this one out and for the fact Stef actually disappears for about 15 minutes at one point. Oops.

But fear not! Because Beth was not alone! We had a guest. An absolute legend in the fandom, Lady Gwyn, from none other than Radio Westeros. She was there to help us close out this awesome section of the book.

With her we talked Crumpets and Strumpets and the scariest castle in all of Westeros: The Nightfort. There was some Alyanne vs Rhaena chat and we wondered what really happened when some of the people... ummm.... dickered?

This was a hard episode for Beth because this part is where Alysanne, who receives a very frosty welcome in the north, is undeniably amazing, seeing as she changes the fate of Westeros forever. We heart you Alysanne!

This time we see the final years of Rhaena (sorry Beth), babies are born, patriarchy lives on, Barth gets a new job and immediately has a rather threatening away-day in Braavos, AND Alysanne ventures north to spend time with House Manderly.

Expect chat about Faceless Men, a Mrs Doubtfire impression, Stef's obsession with smells, a hilarious Patreon question and... dun dun dunnnnn! Beth slips on her tinfoil hat and is reluctant to give it up.

We've started a new chapter!

"Jaehaerys And Alysanne - Their Triumphs And Tragedies". It's not as heavy as the previous chapter (yet), but there's still plenty for us to talk about. And we do!

We go on a hunt for Aerea with Rhaena across Westeros, we learn more about Dragonlore, ponder who Septon Barth (the all-knowing) actually is, go through the Westerlands with Jaehaerys and even have a baby with Alysanne.

There is speculation about dragon sex, whether it is possible to be diplomatic to an ass-hat, and Stef gets annoyed with how much the maesters get up Jaehaerys's butt.

Okay. Prepare yourself. This one is pretty epic.

Firstly we are finally finishing the MAMMOTH chapter in which we have seen assassination attempts, egg theft, lesbian tiffs, angry children and plotting a scheming galore.

This time there's more death, some pretty awful Westerosi Women's Health programmes and A LOT more death! In fact, there's so much death, people are worried about what's actually going down on Dragonstone.

Secondly, wehave our first guest! Joe Magician kindly joins us! We invited him on because this part of the chapter contains a mystery worthy of Sherlock Holmes himself and JM made an awesome theory video about this mystery a few years back and we wanted him on to expound and discuss it. And discuss it, we did! I love his theory and we hope you will find it interesting too.
