🎙 Jay & Laney J LIVE – Podcast Show Notes
    3/10/2026 – Tuesday

Today’s episode of Jay & Laney J LIVE covered a mix of trending topics, throwback fun, and listener interaction.

We kicked things off talking about spring break travel, with many families around the country planning shorter road trips and quick getaways instead of longer vacations this year. Listeners shared whether they’re staying close to home or hitting the road in the coming weeks.

The show also dove into the topic of morning routines after a survey revealed the average person spends about 45 minutes getting ready each morning, and most people check their phones within the first few minutes of waking up. That sparked a conversation with listeners about the first thing they do after getting out of bed.

Since today is National Mario Day, we had some fun with a little video game nostalgia and talked about the legacy of Super Mario Bros., one of the most recognizable video game series ever created. Listeners chimed in with their favorite childhood games and memories of playing Mario growing up.

We also discussed National Pack Your Lunch Day, which turned into a debate about whether it’s better to bring lunch from home or grab something from a restaurant.

As always, the show included plenty of This or That questions, listener comments from the LIVE stream, and great conversation from across the community.

Thanks to everyone who tuned in, called in, and watched the LIVE stream this morning.

  • “Meatballs, Barbies & Monday Morning”
    Mar 9 2026

🎙 Jay & Laney J LIVE – Podcast Show Notes
    3/9/2026 – Monday

We kicked off the week on Jay & Laney J LIVE talking about how everyone handled the Daylight Saving Time change. Many listeners said losing that hour of sleep made Monday morning a little tougher than usual, while others said they enjoyed the extra daylight in the evening.

Today also happened to be National Meatball Day, which sparked a fun food debate on the show. Listeners weighed in on whether they prefer spaghetti and meatballs or a good meatball sub, and a few even shared their favorite homemade recipes.

Another topic that got people talking was National Barbie Day, celebrating the debut of the Barbie doll back in 1959. That led to a throwback conversation about the toys people grew up with — from Barbies and dolls to action figures and toy cars.

Throughout the morning we checked in with listeners about how their week is starting, what they’re hoping to accomplish over the next few days, and what helped them shake off those Monday morning blues.

As always, the show featured plenty of This or That debates, live comments from the studio stream, and great interaction from listeners across the area.

Thanks to everyone who tuned in, called in, and watched the LIVE stream this morning.

  • “Dentist Day, Oreos, and a Friday Wrap-Up”
    Mar 6 2026

    🎙 Jay & Laney J LIVE –
    3/6/2026 – Friday

Today’s Friday edition of Jay & Laney J LIVE was a fun way to wrap up the week with plenty of laughs and listener interaction.

We talked about National Oreo Cookie Day, which turned into a lively debate about the best way to eat an Oreo. Listeners chimed in on whether you twist it apart, dunk it in milk, or just eat it straight out of the package.

It was also National Dentist Day, which sparked conversation about dentists who have served families in our communities for years. A lot of listeners shared stories about seeing the same dentist for decades.

The show also featured our usual Friday energy, with listeners calling in, commenting on the LIVE stream, and sharing what they’re looking forward to this weekend.

Of course, we wrapped up the morning with the Local Musician Spotlight, highlighting a local artist and supporting the great music coming out of our region.

  • "Cheese Doodles & A Trivia Upset"
    Mar 5 2026

🎙 Jay & Laney J LIVE – Podcast Show Notes
    3/5/2026 – Thursday

Today’s show had a little bit of everything — laughs, snacks, and a tough loss for Jay.

We kicked things off with some fun talk around National Cheese Doodle Day, which quickly turned into a snack debate with listeners about their favorite crunchy treats and what snacks seem to disappear the fastest when kids get home from school.

One of the big moments of the morning came during our Thursday Kids IQ trivia segment, where Floyd Washington stepped up to challenge Jay in “Are You Smarter Than Jay Lindly.” After a few tough questions, Floyd managed to take the win — proving once again that taking on Jay in trivia can go either way!

We also talked about a study suggesting making goals more fun can help people feel more motivated and productive, which sparked conversation with listeners about how they stay on track during the week.

Another interesting topic was the idea of the “creative hangover,” where people who spend a highly creative day brainstorming or producing ideas often feel mentally drained the next day.

As always, listeners chimed in on the LIVE stream and on-air, helping shape the conversations throughout the morning.

Thanks to everyone who tuned in and participated.

  • “Coughs, Screens & Grammar Fights”
    Mar 4 2026

    🎙️ Jay & Laney J LIVE –

    📅 Wednesday, March 4, 2026

Midweek energy check and a full lineup of helpful conversation on today’s show.

At 7:30, Dr. Lofton was on the phone taking medical questions from listeners and helping us sort through what’s going around right now.

    We talked about:

    • The difference between seasonal allergies and a cold

As always, it was practical, clear advice you can actually use — and we appreciate Dr. Lofton taking time to answer real listener questions.

We also dove into the trending topic of digital burnout. With average screen time continuing to rise, more people are trying social media breaks and deleting unused apps.

    That sparked conversation about:

    • How much time we actually spend scrolling

    • Whether digital detoxes really make a difference

    • If we should be printing more photos instead of letting them sit in our phones

It wouldn’t be Wednesday without a little debate.
We had some fun with grammar pet peeves:

    • “Your” vs. “You’re”

    • “There, Their, They’re”

    • And the never-ending GIF vs. JIF argument

    Listeners definitely had opinions.

What’s one small win you’ve had already this week?

Catch the full conversation in today’s episode, and we’ll see you tomorrow morning from 7–9 for Jay & Laney J LIVE.

  • "Scrolling, Screens & Starting Something New"
    Mar 3 2026

    📅 Tuesday, March 3, 2026

Today’s show was all about social media, screen time, and launching something brand new.

We kicked things off talking about rising screen time numbers and digital burnout. Studies show the average adult spends more than two hours a day on social media — which adds up to over a month each year just scrolling.

That led to some real conversation:

    • Is social media connecting us… or distracting us?

    • Would you turn off filters if everyone else had to?

    • When was the last time you actually printed a photo?

We also touched on how AI edits and filters are changing expectations online and whether authenticity is making a comeback.

We officially introduced a new weekly segment: Fun Facts with Fredo — focused on social media and photography.

    Today’s question:

How many photos are in your camera roll right now?

We shared that over 95 million photos are posted to Instagram every single day, and most people have thousands sitting in their phones that they never look at again.

Listeners were encouraged to go check their number and comment on the station’s Facebook page.

This segment is all about surprising facts, relatable habits, and getting you involved.

We also gave a nod to World Wildlife Day and talked about some of the unique wildlife we’re lucky to see around McCurtain County.

  • "Serving the Community & Stirring the Internet"
    Mar 2 2026

    📅 Monday, March 2, 2026

We kicked off the first Monday of the month the right way — with Broken Bow Police Chief Morrison in studio leading the show.

Chief Morrison shared updates from the latest Coffee with a Cop event and talked about the importance of building real relationships within the community. From everyday concerns to positive feedback, he gave us insight into what residents are saying face-to-face.

    We also discussed:

    • Current safety trends in Broken Bow

    • Springtime reminders for protecting your home and vehicle

    • Common misconceptions about law enforcement

    • A recent department success he’s especially proud of

    • The best ways for residents to stay connected and informed

We always appreciate the transparency and open conversation during these first Monday visits.

We also dove into what’s making national buzz — including Jim Carrey trending online as fans comment that he “doesn’t look like himself.” That sparked a larger conversation about aging in the spotlight and social media culture.

    Plus:

    • Spring weather swings

    • Gas prices heading into travel season

    • A few viral weekend stories

  • Off Grid Living + Friday Energy
    Feb 27 2026

Today’s show brought the Friday energy as we welcomed Jonathan from OK Off Grid Living on TikTok to the program.

Jonathan joined us to talk about what off-grid living really looks like in Oklahoma — from generating power and hauling water to the biggest misconceptions people have about self-sufficient life. He shared what inspired him to start, the hardest parts people don’t see online, and the most rewarding moments of living unplugged.

    We asked:

    • What does “off grid” actually mean day-to-day?

    • What modern convenience is hardest to give up?

    • Could the average family realistically do this?

The rapid-fire round was a blast — generator or solar, chickens or goats, grow it or hunt it — and listeners had plenty to say about whether they could survive 48 hours unplugged.

    Plus on today’s show:

    • Friday Energy Check

    • Weekend plans from callers and live stream viewers

A little homesteading, a little humor, and a whole lot of Friday vibes.
