Jacob shares the inspiration for joining Tom on the journey to making Steering Wheel Nation and the Inside Groove the digital home for grassroots open-wheel racing in America, and Tom also brings an encore presentation of an interview he did with one of open-wheel racing's most popular drivers ever, Bentley Warren, from 2020.

Warren, now in his mid-eighties but still riding his Harley like someone a half-century younger, started three Indy 500s and won hundreds of races in Supermodifieds, Sprint Cars, and TQ-Midget cars over the course of his long career.

Inside Groove Show - Episode 173 - A New Chapter Begins

This episode marks a transition point for the Inside Groove Show. Host Tom Baker takes us on a journey of past, present and future in order to explain why the Inside Groove Pit Pass has been created, and he talks about the recent North-South Shootout Supermodified Show at Caraway Speedway, the finale of the 2025 ISMA/MSS Series Season. He also celebrates the 2026 ISMA-MSS Schedule and the 2026 Oswego Speedway schedule.

The show is wrapped in a theme of how the 25th Anniversary Eagle Program from 1975 (Oswego Speedway) triggered an idea for the Inside Groove Pit Pass, which will be launched in December and will seek to recreate much of the energy, style, and behind-the-scenes content that made the Eagle a must-have weekly part of our Oswego racing experience.

He also shares the other facets of the Pit Pass Subscription, including discounts from partner businesses and not one but two iRacing Sim Series - a fan vs driver series featuring Oswego drivers competing against fans in Modifieds at Oswego Speedway (offseason) and a national Sim Series that will run monthly beginning in December featuring NASCAR and other "big track" events.

Inside Groove Show - Episode 172 - Remembering Ray Hedger, Sandusky Preview

This week's show once again begins on a somber note, as host Tom Baker remembers long-time SBS builder/owner Ray Hedger, who passed away recently. Baker reads tributes from Bryan Haynes, who currently drivers a Hedger Chassis for owner Jeff Carson and who won his only SBS Classic win in 2015 in a Hedger car he owned, and Brian Sobus, who owned and drove a Hedger Chassis. Tom also adds his own reflections about Ray.

Sandusky Speedway is running perhaps its final race ever this weekend, and Baker previews the 350 Supermodified portion of the event, which features several Oswego Speedway racers. He also talks about what losing Sandusky could mean to Midwest Supermodified racing, and encourages all Supermodified fans to enter the Oswego Eagles Fan Club raffle for a complete driver/crew imaging package from Radical Race Gear.
