Dalton Rushing is talented and has already contributed to the Dodgers at the MLB level, but injuries have kept him from getting consistent game action down the stretch. Rushing has also been limited by his elbow injury and is not expected to provide his normal defensive value behind the plate. If this roster spot is primarily about adding a LEFT-HANDED BAT, why wouldn't Los Angeles take the hitter who has been seeing Major League pitching recently and producing? Dave Roberts acknowledged that the lack of recent at-bats makes Rushing's situation more difficult. That could give De Paula a major advantage. WHAT WILL THE DODGERS DO?
