The election of Claudia Sheinbaum delivered several surprises. One of the less welcome surprises from the investor's point of view was the creation of a super majority in the Chamber of Deputies and 2 seats shy of a super majority in the Senate, in addition to control of 75% of Mexico’s governorships. During the month of September, when these newly elected officials take office, AMLO will still be in power and able to exercise his plan C — a radical overhaul of the constitution.
