Communication is the amalgamation of thoughts and medium. For having a clear thought process, you need knowledge and for knowledge you must be extremely observant, focused, and attentive, for medium you need a language everyone understands.
One - Active Listening: It's not just about waiting for your turn to speak; it's sometime about listening like a detective, soaking in every word like a scuba diver, be present, understand, then respond
Two - Clarity is King: Whether explaining complex fintech concepts or simplifying education strategies, or any sort of communication, clarity is your trusty sidekick. Break it down without dumping it down. Try to grasp until you can explain it to a third grader with utmost clarity and confidence.
Three - Empathy Matters: I have learnt in the BPO realm that empathy isn't a soft skill; it's a power move. Remember that the other person is a human and not just a team member, colleague, resource, or peer. You need to understand perspectives, connect emotionally, and watch collaboration flourish.
Four - Timely and Transparent: Like a financial report, communication should be timely, transparent, and leave no room for misinterpretation. For example, sending emails is like launching confetti; timing is everything! You may want to avoid the Monday morning 'confetti storm'—let your messages sparkle when your colleagues are fully caffeinated, not drowning in their first cup trying to avoid Monday Blues.
Five - Adapt to Your Audience: Educating fresh minds or strategizing with fintech experts? Tailor your communication style. It's a versatile skill! Adjusting your communication is like choosing the right emoji: know your audience! Sending a formal memo to your team is like texting your grandma with memes—hilarious, but probably not the best idea.
