My life is very ordinary. I’m not glamorous. But in a culture that’s constantly chasing the next shiny thing, there’s something deeply satisfying about a ”long obedience in the same direction.” It’s an ordinary life, but better. It’s Glordinary. Let’s be friends as we celebrate God’s Glory and champion the ordinary.Copyright 2024 All rights reserved. Christentum Spiritualität

A Summer of Sabbath Replay Episode! Enjoy, my Friend!

Change can be difficult. Sometimes the older I get, the less I need to learn…and the more I need to unlearn. Habits I’ve picked up. Methods for how I do things. Hmm…that can’t be just me. Do you ever feel this way?

Turns out, we’re not the only ones needing to unlearn a thing or two. Let's talk about Exodus 16 when God re-introduces the Sabbath as we continue our "Summer of Sabbath" series.

www.glordinary.com Here’s a small excerpt: "God knew for the Israelites to learn how to be free, they needed to unlearn how to be slaves…because they were really good at slaving away.”

  • #128- A Chance To Catch Up On Nothing: Summer of Sabbath- Revisited
    Jun 24 2026

I have this blue-and-white tote bag that goes just about everywhere with me. At this point, it's basically my emotional support bag.

Bills to pay. Plans to make. Books to read. Reading glasses. Random protein bars. A life insurance policy with 47 gajillion medical questions to renew. You know, the essentials.

Maybe you have a “tote bag” too… one that feels like you're carrying all.the.things.

We're continuing our Summer of Sabbath-Revisited series with another look at this question:

What if Sabbath was never meant to happen after we're caught up?

Because let's be honest: when exactly is that?

Sounds like the real goal isn't an empty schedule or an empty tote bag. Maybe the goal is simply giving our souls a chance to catch up.

Because maybe a chance to catch up on nothing is the very something we need.

Here’s a small excerpt: "And if I’m really honest, I think Sabbath should happen after my tote bag’s empty. But God says Sabbath happens when my tote bag’s full. After all, what good is an empty tote bag if at the end, I’m left with an empty soul too? Hmm…"

  • REPLAY #17- Enough is Enough: Sabbath Stopping
    Jun 23 2026

A Summer of Sabbath Replay Episode! Enjoy, my Friend!

Do you ever feel like you just need permission to stop? To stop from the constant day-in and day-out of life. To stop from the tyranny of the urgent and the sensory overload of life. To stop from the stress, the woes, the fears, the labor. Permission granted.

Yes, when it comes to Sabbath, we not only have permission to stop, but a responsibility to do so. Our bodies need it, and our souls do too. Let's chat in Genesis 2 about how God modeled the permission and the purpose of a “Holy Stop.”

    www.glordinary.com

Here’s a small excerpt: "So, how do we stop? Well, the Word doesn’t tell us how He stopped in Genesis 2; it just says He did stop. He said, “Enough is enough,” and He stopped.”
