  • 37. Be-Do-Have alone doesn't work

    You might have heard of this famous model in coaching called BE-DO-HAVE. It is a mindset tool to get you away from the traditional ways of achieving your goals.

    You know the societal way… DO more (study harder, work longer hours, exercise more often, prove yourself with your actions), then you can HAVE more (money, career, weight loss, success), and when you have these things, then you will BE successful (rich, important professional, skinny, etc).

    And for many, it works until it doesn’t. If you haven’t fundamentally changed at the Identity Level (how you see yourself) you will revert back to the identity that you truly hold of yourself, and that’s when you gain the weight back, lose your money, make dumb investments, or are not able to keep up with the demands of your new position.
